"Wait" I said.
"One moment, doctor." Reina said as she looked at me. "He tried to cheat you once before."
"Yes, and one way to make sure your food isn't being poisoned is too have your chef taste it first." I said looking at Kurian.
"On second thought. It is such a monumental accomplishment that the honor of the first dose should really go to you." said Reina looking at Kurian.
"I can't. I wouldn't presume to take"
"Oh, please. I insist."
"I'm not worthy, my queen. If anyone should have the honor of the first dose, it should be you. Don't you think?"
"If that's what I thought, doctor, I would have said it. Well then, doctor? Do you need some help, doctor?"
"No." He grabbed his syringe and inserted it into his arm. After a minute, he started to seize and scream.
"Kill him." said Reina.
"Wait! Wait. Wait. Wait. I'm good. I'm good. I mean I'm I'm fine. I'm good. I'm okay. I'm fine." He said as he sat up straight as if nothing happened to him.
"Test him." Reina said as the zeroes brought out a box.
"What? What's in that box?" Kurian said as a couple of Zeroes held him. They grabbed his hand and opened the box where a zombie head was.
"No. No. I have my own test. I have No. I have Please! I have my own test!"
"We need to get out of here." Doc said shocked. The Z in the box bit his hand and they pulled his hand out. They dropped Kurian to the ground and had their guns ready if he turned. 5 minutes had passed and he has turned at all.
"He should've turned by now." I said.
"I can't believe it. It actually worked." Murphy said. Everyone started to clap and zeroes were handing out glasses of champagne.
"I can see a world where humans dominate again. And it is all because of one person whose strength and courage who saved my life. Autumn. Because of you, El Murphy is brought to us. Because of you, there is hope. You gave us the future. And so you must be honored next." Reina said to me.
"I don't know what to say." I said looking at Warren and 10k for help. 10k was ready to come up and get me when Warren held him back.
"Oh, you don't have to say anything." said Reina.
"My queen. Um, if I may, you will allow me. Autumn has helped keep me on my path to save the world and I think of her as a daughter. Please grant me the great honor of giving her the vaccine myself? And save her life as she has saved mine." said Murphy.
"Oh my god That is a beautiful idea. I love it! Doctor." Reina said as Kurian gave him another syringe. I looked at him in fear.
"Don't worry." Murphy whispered and winked. He took the needle and put it in between my armpit so he wouldn't inject me.
"Ahh."
"The sting will go away in just a second." said Murphy as he put on a bandaid.
"Mi Reina, please. These people are outsiders. Gabachos. You cannot trust them. You cannot trust her." Escorpion said looking at us.
"Quiet, Hector. You be very careful with what you say next."
"I'm just trying to protect what I have what we have built. She brought the assassin. She wants to do you harm, Reina and her group does too and I can prove it. Just give me more time with him."
"Go."
"What the hell?" Warren said as I came over and Murphy went to Kurian
"Are you feeling okay, Autumn? Is it working?" 10k said holding my face while Doc looked in my eyes.
"I didn't get injected, stupid."
"What? Why not?"
"I don't know?"
"That's exactly what I intend to find out. I got Murphy. You guys find Vasquez. We are getting out of here." Warren said.
We waited around and kept to ourselves until Warren came back.
"What did he do now?" Doc asked.
"Conspired with Kurian to make a fake vaccine that turns people into zombie blends that he controls." Warren said.
"Kinda like a zombie slave army?" I said.
"Exactly like a zombie slave army."
"Damn. So zombie slave strippers weren't enough." Doc said.
"That's the dark side of ambition. So all those Zeros, he controls them?" Addy asks.
"Yep."
"So no California?" I asked.
"No. We're still going to California."
"All of us." asked Addy.
"Absolutely. Even if we got to take Murphy by force. Again."
"What about the zombie slave army?" I asked.
"Yeah, well seems like there's an incubation period before he has total control. We gotta get out of here before then." said Warren.
"And then there's Vasquez. Got to get him, too." I said.
"Are you sure about that, chief? He damn near got us killed." Doc said.
"He let emotion get the better of him. But he'd come for any of us. We can get him. With My brains. 10K's guns. Addy's bat, Autumn's bomb making, and Doc's Dumb luck? Good karma? Funky mojo? We can get him." said Warren.
"Good. Let's do it." Addy said.
"I'll meet you guys at the entrance of the tunnels in one hour." Warren said. We went out of the room and started looking around upstairs and think of any places where they will be holding him.
We found one of the zeroes that took Vasquez and Doc grabbed him and held a knife to him.
"Take me to Vasquez. If you wanna live."
The zero pointed at the door a couple doors down. We went into the room and there was this big box with Vasquez and a Z in it.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey. It's us. It's us."
"Let me guess. Murphy's zombie army plan went horribly wrong?" Vasquez said through the crack.
"Yeah. Could be worse. Coulda gone right." I said. We each grabbed a side and pulled it out and I gave the Z mercy.
"Are you bitten?"
"No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Let's get out of here." We all eft and went to the tunnels that we came in from and waited for Warren and Murphy. Warren and Warren came by and we heard a loud buzzer. Suddenly behind us, a wall opened and all of these Z's started to come out.
"Move!" Warren yelled as were started to run to the exit ladder. Murphy started to walk towards the Z's.
"I need to free them."
"Come on."
"We're close! Go, go, go!" We got to the ladder and saw that Murphy wasn't there. "Where's Murphy?"
"He'll come." Warren said.
The Zeroes were coming and we had to get out of there.
"Move it, Addy! Go!" I said as we were running up the ladder. We got to the top and we looked down to help everyone else up. Then I heard the Escorpion as everyone was up except Vasquez
"Yo soy Escorpion. I don't die. I kill. No one disrespects me and lives. Who wants to die first, huh? Who wants to die?" He said to us as Vasquez came forward.
"Come on!"
"I got a shot." 10k said.
"No." I said.
"He's gonna kill him." Addy said.
"No, he's got to do this. We got to let him."
Vasquez just looked at him and punched him as the Z's started to come and ran up the ladder. We closed the hatch and locked it.
"Get me out of here! You're gonna pay for this! Get me out of here!" Escorpion yelled. We looked around and we saw a car.
"El Camino."
We all ran towards the car and got in and drove off ass fast as we can.
