Take the Ice

Chapter 6

After a little catching up Kayde leads Jocelyn to where she was staying. Jocelyn talked about what she wanted to do with Kayde and Amalia. Kayde listened and looked at her smiling. When they get to the Hot springs Kayde goes in first. As soon as Kayde wheels in Amalia runs over and hugs her then smacks her in the back of the head "You dumby. You made me worry."

Kayde smiles and rubs the back of her head "Well at least I know you care about me." Jocelyn sifts and clears her throat. Kayde looks back at her "Oh yeah. Uh everyone this is Jocelyn. She was one of the other girls from "Protectors of God's Daughters.' She was adopted a year before me."Victor smiles "Hello it's nice to meet someone from Kaydes' past." Jocelyn nods "It's a pleasure to meet you too."

Amalia stands there in shock written all over her face. Amalia stands more straight and folds her arms. "It's good to see you Jocelyn." Kayde stands and pushes her wheelchair to the side. "I'm hungry let's eat." Yuuri smiles ,holding Victors' hand, leads the way to the dining room. They all sit down and eat.

Kayde doesn't say anything the whole meal but Jocelyn and Amalia catch up. Victor talks to Yuuri while constantly looked from Kayde to Yuuri. Kayde stands and takes her plate to the kitchen. When she walks in Mr. Katsuki takes the plate. "Thank you for your help but you don't have to." Kayde smiles "i would love to help you. I'm good at cleaning dishes and cooking." Mr. Katsuki smiles and lets her help.

After a while of helping Mr. Katsuki she walked out towards the stairs. Her eyes go blank and she falls to her knees crying. She whispers "Daddy, please," a few times. Amalia walks next to Jocelyn, when she sees Kayde she runs to her and pulls her close "Kayde, honey. What's wrong?" Kayde cries into Amalia's shoulder "I-i-i-i can't see."

Amalia pulls away a little "What?" Kayde starts to rub her eyes to clear the tears "I-i-i can't see!" Jocelyn stands there in shock for a moment "I'll make a doctors appointment to see a doctor." Amalia helped Kayde to her room. Kayde took her dress of the wall and put it in the closet using the walls. Kayde sat in bed and thought about when her accident first happened.

Flash back to the past Duh:

Kayde had just gotten on her motorcycle and was heading out for a night out with her friends. When she was heading to her friends house traffic got bad and she had to slow down to match the traffic. Once she got out of the traffic she sow a truck coming straight for her, down her lain. She tried swerving out of the way, but when they crashed into her she flew of her bike and into the trunk. She hadn't woken up for 5 days after her accident.

Back to know:

Kayde had cried herself to sleep that night. The next day Kayde grabbed her clothes and things for a shower, as best she could not being able to see. She walked slowly down stairs praying her legs wouldn't give way. She got to the wash room before anyone else was up. Kayde washed, dried, and got dressed.

She went back up to her room and picked up her bag. Kayde waited for Amalia or Victor to come get her for her doctor's appointment. She was nervous about seeing a doctor because Victor didn't know the full extent of her injuries just the ones that could show up in everyday life. When Kayde had been talking to Yuuri when she first got to Hasetsu he had mentioned a Minako Okukawa, he had said she was a good ballet teacher and she may be able to help with Kayde's physical therapy.

Yuuri had also mentioned moving to Russia to live with Victor, but they were still thinking about it and now tried to include Kayde in the decision. When Kayde heard a knock at the door she immediately said "Come in." Amalia put a hand on her shoulder. "You ready to go?" Kayde nods, stands up, and had Amalia help her walk down the stairs and to the courtyard. Kayde stopped "Is Victor coming?" Amalia squeezed Kayde's hand "Not at the moment but he can if you want him to." Kayde shook her head 'No.' She sighed "I don't want him to know the full extent of my injuries." Amalia frowned "If that's what you want."
