(Angst bitches >:3)
"Why..."
It was quiet when he asked, George's hand softly stroking his hair that was too greasy to be soft but still felt pleasant. His other hand rubbed comforting circles on Alexander's wrist, Alexander's own arm tossed across George's toned stomach.
"Why what?" George mumbled, eyes still closed as he shifted on the bed. Alexander nuzzled his face closer to him.
"Why me?" He asked with a voice raspy from (ahem) previous activities.
"Why did you want me?"
There was a moment of silence, a few seconds too long to be comfortable.
"I'm... I don't get what you mean, Alex." His voice was truly confused.
Could a voice be confused? Focus, Alex, focus.
"I mean-!" Alex paused and recollected.
"I mean... why did you fall in love with me? You could have picked from anyone in the world and you chose me. Ordinary, unattractive, useless me..."
George's eyes had widened as Alexander listed different and horrible things about himself, his mouth falling open to gape slightly. "Alexander!" He swallowed past the lump forming in his throat. "Do you--do you think you're--how do you... I..."
George was at a loss for words. A complete loss.
Alexander felt nervousness pulse through his veins, body tingling hotly. "What?" He asked in an attempt to play off George's concern.
"What do you mean what?! You just confessed that you--" He paused and hauled Alex off of him.
"H-Hey, where are you--"
George boxed Alex in, arms pinned on either of his shoulders. He quickly realized he would probably suffocate him by the time he was done and quickly flipped him and Alex over so he was on the bottom instead of him. Alexander almost went flying from the force of George's strength.
"George, I don't get it... it isn't that big of a deal that I think you deserve better!" He argued.
"Do you hear what's coming out of your mouth right now, Alex?!" George spat.
"Yes?" Alex asked, annoyance straining his voice. "And?"
George started, mouth agape, eyes wide. "Are. You. Stupid?!" His voice rose with each word.
Alexander felt tears well in his eyes and he looked away from the broad-shouldered man.
"You are confessing, confessing that you think I don't deserve you!" George was shouting and he never shouted at Alex.
Alexander was about to beg him to stop when tears welled and spilled over in George's eyes and over his cheeks. Alex's eyes went wide.
"Hey-hey!" He sputtered and struggled to free his arms from beneath George. "Nononono!"
He freed his arms and brought his hands to George's face, brushing away tears with his thumbs.
"Fuck--" George choked out and brought one hand to his own face, pushing away Alexander's.
"G-goddamnit... fuck." He pushed off of Alex, practically grinding the palms of his hands into his own eyes. Alex didn't move, he stared at the ceiling, eyes slanted.
