"Sephy, you can't be serious."

"Why not?"

"Because-because..."

Sephy, Halley and Samantha had given up their free period before last lesson of the day to go location-spotting, as Sephy had told them all that she had the perfect place for their Halloween party.

"It's a toilet" Halley chipped in helpfully, as Samantha had been momentarily lost for words.

"Yes, but nobody comes in here" Sephy pointed out.

"But this is where we brewed the Animagus Potion" Halley added. "So that means..."

There was a violent, hissing pop of pipework from behind them, making them all squeal.

"Back again, are we?" Myrtle wailed mournfully, as she floated up to the ceiling, leaving the pipework spraying water all over the floor.

"Yes, er, hi Myrtle" Sephy sighed, drawing her wand and repairing the broken pipe. "We were wondering if you fancied hosting a party."

The ghostly girl stopped short.

"A party? What would I want a party for?" she retorted petulantly. "I've never been invited to a party. The castle ghosts don't invite me to any of their death-day parties, and I couldn't care for mortals anyway."

"We were going to invite you to ours" Sephy continued, brazenly. "But we'd have to have it in here, in your toilet."

The ghostly eyes bulged behind the thick, horned spectacles.

"A party? In here? What would a party be doing in my toilet?"

"Well" Sephy sighed. "Barely anyone comes in here, and it's got very thick walls-"

"And you know why?" the young ghost shrieked. "You know why nobody ever comes in here?"

"Funnily enough, yes we do" Halley murmured sarcastically. Myrtle's head snapped around, and she shot down from the ceiling, through Halley, who staggered, coughing as she struggled with being passed through at speed.

Myrtle hovered over the end cubicle, muttering viciously to herself.

"Always trying to pick on Myrtle. You want my toilet so you can have a party and ignore Myrtle. You want me to go away and leave you alone to have your party with your friends without Myrtle. Nobody wants Myrtle around..."

And with that, she burst into hysterical tears, and disappeared, wailing, into the toilet with a splash of dirty water.

"Well done, Hal" Sephy sighed.

"I barely said anything!" Halley argued, as she tried to catch her breath. "And anyway, I was just answering her question..."

"It was a rhetorical question" Samantha sighed. "Myrtle's full of them. Come on, girls. We'll have to ask McGonagall if we can borrow a classroom..."

The three of them traipsed out dejectedly.

"I really thought we'd be able to get her on board" Sephy complained.

"Honestly?" Halley asked dryly. "You genuinely thought Moaning Myrtle would be up for a Halloween party?"

"I thought we were better friends" Sephy pointed out, as the three girls picked up their books from the corridor and headed off to Defense Against The Dark Arts. "All those times I dropped in to say hi out of the goodness of my heart."

"Probably canceled out by all the times Remus and I hexed her when we were making the Animagus Potion" Samantha added, smirking. Sephy rolled her eyes.
