I tried to open my eyes. It hurt. Everything hurt. A whimper escaped my lips. My voice nudged me to open my eyes more and I found myself looking at those treetops again. Sunlight pricked my eyes.
Did I fall asleep or what?
Owwwww!!!
God, it hurts. I feel like something is eating me at different parts of my body. And it doesn't want to stop. I lifted my head and tried to find what was hurting me.
And when I saw it. Them. I almost fainted.
Leeches!!!
Jet-black leeches hungrily sucked away at my blood. My arms and legs had three to four of them. Sucking away.
I screamed.
I grabbed their slimy bodies and wrenched them away from my skin. I cried and screamed as I did so. The pain was unbearable.
I threw them far away from me and struggled to stand.
I tried to get away from that place, but I kept slipping and stumbling on the slippery, mossy, mushy earth. I frantically looked around.
Where am I???
"Mom!!! Dad!!!! Melanieee!!!" I cried. "Shailene!!!!" I was scared. My voice echoed.
I looked around and found myself to be densely surrounded with tall, thick trees and marshes and swamps.
Blood kept pushing out of my arms and legs.
I chose a random direction and started running.
Until I began growing dizzy and fell face first onto the soft earth.
