Chapter 5: Reunited

Aidan's POV

I stood there between both girls for a moment, very confused. On one side of me was my mate looking very shocked and on my other side was one of my best friends Kaia looking as shocked as my mate. I looked at them both turning my head from one girl to the other as if following the ball of a tennis match, completely lost, but before I could say anything Kaia spoke.

"B-Brooke?" The words stumbled out of Kaia's mouth. I grew even more confused. How did she know my mate's name.

My mate nodded at Kaia's question. Next thing I knew both girls ran towards each other pulling each other into a hug. After a minute both girls pulled away but Kaia keeps her hands on Brooke's shoulders, Brooke holding onto her arms.

"Oh my god. It's been so long. I can't believe your ok. What am I saying of course your ok, thank god your ok." I never knew my friend Kaia to ramble like that. If I could have been more confused in that situation, I would have been. "Where's your brother?" A worried look passes Kaia's face as Brooke tears up. Kaia hugs my mate again but more fiercely.

Wait, what did she say. My mate has a brother. As I am confused as humanly possible now, I decide to butt in. "Excuse me but, what the fuck is going on here". Both girls turn to me after hearing my shocked voice. I could tell my mate was on the verge of crying. She turned away from my gaze.

"YOU NEVER TOLD ME YOUR MATE WAS BROOKE!!!" A still shocked Kaia basically yells at me.

"WELL HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW YOU KNEW HER!!! ACTUALLY I WOULD APPRECIATE KNOWING HOW YOU BOTH KNOW EACH OTHER?".

Kaia lets out a loud sigh. "I knew Brooke when I was younger. Before I came here they were the only two friends I had ever had back at my old pack besides my family".

"Who is they?" Wondering who the other person or people my best friend are talking about. Kaia gives Brooke a questioning look before her gaze returns to me.

"Brooke has an older brother. Both of them are inseparable so I'm surprised they both aren't here." She gives Brooke a sad but curious look thinking, I assume, about my mate's brother.

I kind of envy the fact that she knew more about my mate than me. Brooke didn't even mention anything about her family let alone a brother she is very close with. Then again I have only been speaking with Brooke since she woke up less than a day ago, where Kaia seems to go back years with her from what I have picked up.

"How long have you guys known each other" I know for a fact the number will be at least 10+ years since Kaia and I became friends about a year after she moved into the pack and that was 9 years ago. Both girls exchange unreadable looks before turning back to look me.

"I have known Brooke for..." pausing to do the math in her head."...14 years" My eyes widen at the answer. That is most her life since I know Kaia is around 19. I am still unaware of Brooke's age but I guess it is around Kaia's age. A small smile crosses Brooke's face as Kaia looks at her.  She is very pretty when she smiles.

"Wow, you guys have known each other a while then."

"Ye, but we haven't spoken since I moved here. We had no way to communicate".

"How come" I asked. I was met with silence so decided to move on.

"Kaia I know it's a bit random but do you happen to know what age Brooke is or like her date of birth."
