It's cloudy with a small breeze outside. The humidity makes you think it may rain.
But thats not your concern right now.
As you stand outside Ford's door, trying to think of what the speak to him about, simple questions like; Why doesn't he speak to me? Am I boring? Am I not worth his time?
Ford doesn't seem to entirely speak to you, even after yesterday when you accidently bumped into him in the town.
Sure, he held onto you hand before you could fall, but no reaction. No words. No realization that you were actually there.
You couldn't help but wonder if he truly can see you, so you wanted to speak to him. That's the least you could do.
You shake out of it a resume your original thought process.
"Um... the weather? No. Maybe politics? Of course not." You mutter.
Just then, the door opens with just the man you wanted to see, but it's clear her has no need to see you,
"Is there something I can help you with?" Ford asks.
You jump back, "U-um... not really! I just wanted to know if you maybe wanted to hang out sometime, since it seems that you're not quite fond of me. B-but I think it's important that us fellow townsfolk must get along, r-right?" You chatter on before noticing he's halfway to the General Store.
H-he must not have heard me?
You call out after him trying to catch up, "Huff... sorry... I-I don't think you heard me. But I was just wondering if you're not busy--"
"A, I heard yoh, I just took no interest. B, I am." He enters the store, not even holding the door behind him.
"Oh... okay." You awkwardly stand aside for a while before beginning to walk home, then you stop. Come on (Y/N)! Are you really giving up that easily?
You march inside, swinging the door open with almost too much force.
"F-Ford! I demand to talk to you right now!" You yell.
In the silence of the small store with so few people, you can hear even the tiniest echo of your voice throughout it.
Ford sighs, "E-er... fine, just wait outside for a little while."
You break out into a small smile, slightly prancing on the way out. You couldn't believe how simple it was.
You sit on a bench kicking your feet in happiness.
Every time the door opens to the store you perk up, realizing that it's not Ford.
But you continue to wait.
So much time passes by, that the clouds roll in, but you still don't budge. It starts raining, but you still continue to wait.
The sudden coldness whips at you and your nose gets stuffy. You eyes feel heavy and you kind of feel like heading home.
But of course you don't.
Finally, Ford comes out of the store looking directly at you in both shock and anger, "(Y-Y/N)! What are you doing out here in the rain?! You could get sick!"
You sniffle, "I-I had to wait for you."
Ford snaps, "I didn't think you'd actually wait for me! What is so important that you must wait in the rain for me?"
"Ford I didn't mean to, I just, wanted to chat because it doesnt seem like we're getting along--"
"What? That's what this is about? Why must you be so... desprate? That is truly... imbecilic. "
His extremely disappointed look, makes hurts you somehow, but he's right.
In embarrassment and upset, you run off in tears. You don't know if he called after you, but you don't care.
You shut door behind you, but not with much force, you're to weak for that.
Your pillow invites you and your tears, but for some reason even after all that, you don't hate Ford.
The Next Day
The brightness of your bedside lamp seems to be the only think that woke you up.
You can't believe you forgot to turn it out. Reaching for the light, something catches the corner of your eye.
On the edge of your bed lies blond hair, and circular glasses without purple eyes.
It's Ford?!
He's peacefully sleeping near your legs in a chair pulled up by your bedside.
You want to know what he's doing here, no, you need to know.
A thought surpasses your actions, as the curiosity of what his hair feels like.
It's... smooth.
Just like his, for once glove free, hand, that grabs yours.
"What... are you doing?" Ford asks half awake.
You try to retract your hand but his grip is a bit to strong. "U-um... nothing! Ahaha..."
He stares at you for a while, releasing his grip, he gets up from the chair to sit a bit closer on your bedside.
He observes then claps a hand on your forehead.
The words can't escape your mouth, so you remain silent.
"Huh," A relieve look washed over Ford's face. "Good, your fever has went down immensely."
"I was sick?" You mutter a bit too loudly, cause he hears you.
"Of course you were after rushing out in that rain." He sighs. "Which reminds me..."
He removes his hand. "(Y/N)... I'm sorry about the way I spoke yesterday. It was... out of tune. I guess I acted out that way because... I get so worried."
"About me?" You ask.
His face turns red, "W-well no! I just get worried about everyone! I-I mean I am a doctor after all... and..."
You smile and clap a hand over his forehead this time.
You gasp, "Oh my Ford! It looks like... you've caught the fever!"
"I-I have?!"
"Just kidding!" You laugh.
"(Y/N)! That was not funny! Just for that, you owe me a free toxin testing tomorrow!"
"Aw..."
Then Ford starts laughing, it felt kind of... refreshing as you laughed alongside him.
Kind of made you want to be sick more often~♡
