"No, i didn't want cream in my coffee. I said NO CREAM. It's literally the worst." I complained.
The barista looked at the drink he had just made, and threw it away.
"I am very sorry, but the coffee pot is empty. it'll take a few minutes to get a new cup."
I rolled my eyes and got back on my  phone, while the line of people behind me were getting frustrated.
The barista handed me back a fresh, plain black coffee and again, apologized for the mistake.
I walked over to a round table, occupied by my older sisters.
"That barista literally the worst."
"Details, my dear sister." Said Kathleen. Kathleen was a very thin lady. She was a senior in college and the leader of her sorority. Kathleen was very mean to others, but once you became friends with her, she was a very kind and loving person.
"I ordered the same thing i always get; plain black coffee and a bagel. He gives me a coffee full of cream. So I sent it back. Then i had to wait for him to make me a new coffee because the pot was empty. It's only 7 am and my day has gone to shit." I put my arms on the table.
Kathleen giggled. "I mean, you like your coffee the way you like your men. Am i right?"
I gave Kathleen a glare and then lifted my arms off the table to take a drink of my coffee. "Gross," i exclaimed, "this table is covered in sticky stuff. Marie, didn't you pick this table?"
Marie looked over at me, then at Kathleen, then back to me.
"I really hope you're joking with me. You were the one who said 'Go sit over there. No one is there and it's right by the window.'"
I cocked my head so the side with a slight smirk on my face to let both Kathleen and Marie know that what Marie had just said was, in fact, true.
I then took a sip of her coffee. While doing so, Marie looked past her and said, "Se, isn't that Jamal?"
"What!?" I basically yelled, spilling some of my coffee on my leather jacket. "Great. Now i have to go get napkins."
"I'm pretty sure you did that on purpose just to go talk to him." Kathleen laughed. "I told you this girl likes her coffee the way she likes her men." She nudged Marie and gave me a wink.
Jamal has always been my crush. We've known each other since elementary school, and almost all through high school we were best friends.
I got up from my seat and headed over to the condiment station, where Jamal was getting a straw for his ice coffee.
"Selena? Is that you?" He asked, looking me up and down.
I blushed, and replied with, "Jamal Keegan? No way!"
"I haven't seen you since junior year in high school. How have you been?" He questioned while giving her a side hug. It has almost been 2 years since the last time we had seen each other. Jamal moved in with his dad in North Carolina that year.
"I'm great! I'm enrolled in college next semester at Peakson and start my job in about..." i looked at my phone to read the time. "4 hours."
He nodded his head and then replied, "Sweet. Hey listen, I'm kind of in a rush but if you want to catch up after you get out of work, I'll give you my number."
He then picked up a napkin and took out the pen he had in his back pocket and wrote down his number. Along with that, he wrote down his address and social media names.
"Just in case you wanna stalk me. Call me anytime." He joked. He gave me another side hug, then walked out of the shop.
I then grabbed a hand full of napkins and ran back to the table.
"Tell me you guys just seen that." I exclaimed while slamming my tall, curvy body into the chair.
The girls giggled and nodded their heads.
Kathleen's cherry red hair was now pulled up into a lazy bun, as if she didn't care about how it looked. Marie and Kat are twins. Both with gorgeous natural red hair, and a very nice body type. I was with blonde hair, along with my twin brother, Liam. I'm the only one who dyes my hair. I do not like my blonde hair at all.
"Well my loves," Marie said while standing up, "I have to go to my yoga studio and open up."
Marie was a health nut. She was a vegetarian and only ate locally grown foods. She ran her own yoga studio and went on a jog every morning.
"Love you!" Kat and I said simultaneously.
"Love you guys too!" She yelled back.
