5:00 AM
It was a typical monday morning, Paul Walters is getting ready for work. He's working as a janitor at the school nearby his skunky, small apartment.
“Ugh, damn I hate mondays.”
After eating his breakfast, he fixed his stuff and went out. He apparently walks 8 blocks everyday on his way to school, preferring not to waste money on riding a cab. Poor Paul, he doesn't even have a bicycle to use.
He sees people riding a bike, or a car on their way to school or work.
“Well, at least I have my dose of exercise daily. Unlike those people pffft.”
He arrived around 7:30 AM. He was 30 minutes late. As he swipes his card to time-in, the head of the house keeping department sees him from afar and approached him.
“Well, well, well. Look who do we have here. Mr. Walters. Do you know what time it is?”
“Umm, 7:30?”
“7:30??”
“Yea. Can I go now? I've got some cleaning to do.”
“Wow. You act tough.”
“I am.”
“Ha! You came in late and here you are acting like a boss. It's 7:30 for Christ's sake!”
“I know, you keep on repeating and repeating it! I maybe an orphan but I'm not dumb. Now if you'll excuse me.”
Paul walks out of his boss' way and went straight to the house keeping department to get his cleaning stuff. It's Monday so he's assigned in the pool area of the school. He grabs his stuff and walked his way to the pool area.
He sees the pool and groans in disgust. It was all moldy and the water's green already.
“Dang, when was the last time this pool was cleaned? They should definitely hire a pool guy to clean this disgusting stuff.”
Whistling, he starts cleaning the nasty pool. He was already in the middle of his work when he heard some footsteps. He stopped and so did the footsteps. He continued to work but then he heard the footsteps again. Distracted, he listened to the footsteps. As the footsteps grew louder, his hearts thumps loudly. And a woman that looks like 24-ish or 25-ish came out of the dark alley.
“JESUS CHRIST!”
He was startled and stumbled his feet.
“Oh my mister! I didn't mean to scare you!”
“WHAT THE HELL!”
“I said I'm sorry! I really didn't mean to. I was just waiting for my sister and decided to get some fresh air here.”
“Nevermind, sorry if I kind of shouted at you. I was just startled by the footsteps and you appearing there.”
“You shouldn't have watched that horror movie on tv last night.”
“How'd you know?
“I watched it too and I was all paranoid too when I woke up early a while ago.”
