"Really now? I thought you already have this one," Kalia said as she flipped through Thomas Harris' Black Sunday. It had an old, worn down cover, with aged folding lines and blotches from where the layer's peeled itself off.
"Yeah. No. I mean--" he disintegrated as he discreetly switched his eyes' focus.
"So, not this? The Silence of the Lambs then? Gosh, Kev, please decide already! What do you want?"
Kevin would've known what to buy at that moment. He'd saved for that book, Red Dragon, for a month now. But somehow as he hovered inside Booksale, he couldn't peel his eyes off of her.
"Her," he breathed out.
Kalia turned to where Kevin was staring.
No one was standing there.
Only another bookshelf.
