Archie Andrews sat down at a table near the end of the woods. Behind Riverdale High, tall and deep green trees towered over the outside lunch area. Concrete floors crowded with tables and students using them as table tennis stations or sitting on top to try and be 'cool'. He sat quietly opposite his best friend Jughead Jones, and his best friend's girlfriend and childhood friend Betty Cooper. Jughead denim jacket hid a grey t-shirt with an S painted down the middle, the collar in-crusted with a white fluffy material. He wore Blue denim jeans and yet another jacket around his waist. And of course, as per usual of him a grey beanie in the shape of a crown. Jughead father was king of the south side serpents. But I'll explain more about that later. Back to him, his arm was carefully wrapped around his girlfriends shoulders. She wore a tight, pale pink jumper and a little necklace with a minuscule, copper key. She also wore pale blue jeans and white pumps. Archie smiled. "There's the cute couple." He joked. "Shut up." Jughead fires back playfully.

Jughead father had recently been in trouble with the law. But then again, when we're the south sides residents ever not? Riverdale was a quiet town, a small town. But it was divided into two parts. North side, the quaint and perfect town that ran like any other perfect town. Perfect, that word made the south side shudder. And of course the south side was filled with misfits, delinquents and whatever other words you can use to describe idiotic children and boisterous adults. The north side had post offices, quiet schools and the local newspaper office. The south side had noisy bars, empty parking lot racing courses and run down flats. It hardly compared, but Jugheads life was more than satisfactory. He lived in a trailer not far from the centre of all south side fights and brawls. His father, FP Jones, was king to the serpents. And so it was no surprise when Jughead came to be like a prince to the serpents. He loved his life. However Betty did not.

Betty Cooper, where to begin. For most of her life it had been nothing but 'Pink Perfection' coloured lipstick. But recently it had been more like, 'Rushing Red'. Life had been frantic recently. Betty's older sister Polly had become a teen pregnancy story and her mother had flown of the charts. Her father was too engrossed in running the local newspaper that he didn't seem to care. But recently things had calmed down when her mother had accepted Polly, aged holding her baby. Her mother had explained that she only wanted Polly to have a good life, and not to make the same mistake she did, which was to get rid of a baby. Betty hadn't seen her brother in a while but, that was not important.

Archie Andrews, a stunning Redhaired boy who had only just managed a six pack this summer. Usually he only wore a t-shirt to show off his muscles. He had them now, Why not show them off properly? His simply wore denim blue jeans and black trainers. His mother and father had separated due to arguments not worth mentioning. Purely that they didn't love each other anymore. After trying again for the third time that year, they gave up. Now Archie lived with his father whilst his mother lived in a nearby town called greendale. He didn't mind, his father was much more lenient with him, and spent most of his time working. So he was good to go.

"So, Archie? How was he Chem test?" Betty reluctantly asked. Archie was amazingly good looking, but he wasn't the brightest spark. "It went great actually, I was really surprised that I knew so much." Archie lied, smiling through his teeth. "In fact, I think it was our study session that helped me really get there." He added, buttering her up. "You got an F didn't you?" Betty sighed. "I got a D." Archie finally caved. She seemed reluctant to reply but Jughead chuckled. She slapped him on the knee telling him to knock it off. "What went wrong?" Betty questioned sympathetically. "I don't know, I guess it just didn't sink in." Archie lied. In fact the case is, he'd fallen asleep and only woken up when his phone ya drank during the test. He managed to answer half of the questions in a hurried rush. "Mr Andrews, Have you finished?" He teacher had asked him after slipping the paper out from underneath his frantic hand. She chuckled and walked off.

The truth was, Archie had been up all night writing a song. The musician inside off him had scribbled down over ten songs, as his way of coping with his recent break up. He looked back at table filled with students, and Valerie. The gorgeous fuzzy haired girl who had broken his heart. After a recent fight they had become very, rocky... to say the least. Jughead had noticed his sorrowed expression. "Archie!" He shouted. He quickly spun around confused and a little frightened. "You need to get over his girl!" He shouted again. Archie looked towards Betty, who nodded in agreement. He shook his head. "He's right Arch," Betty agreed quietly, she reached out her hand to hold his. "This whole break up is causing your grades to slip. And you know, you are seriously depressing." Jughead rose from the table. "I am setting you up!" He shouted. "Oh god." Archie mumbled under his breath. "Oh yes! I know a girl, Okay? She's single, feisty, and gorgeous!" Betty elbowed him in the side. "So, I've been told." He added sitting down. "Jug no." He mumbled again. "It's happening Archie! It's happening!" He said taking or his phone and typing frantically. "Jug!" Archie said angrily. Quickly he typed away, then placed his phone on the table. "Done." He chuckled. "7:00pm tonight, Snakes End."
