...
Levi is up in seconds, wrapping his arms around me and stroking my hair.
"It's ok." He says in a calming voice.
"No it's not." I say, still struggling to breathe.
"What's wrong, talk to me." He says.
"My brother is dead." I say before continuing "Bren is dead! Blake is dead!"
"I know, but you have me." He says and I close my eyes and sigh.
"But what if I loose you?" I ask, my voice small.
"You're not going to loose anyone else." He says.
"You don't know that. You don't know who is going to die next." I say, the volume of my voice increasing.
"I promise you, I will never leave you." Levi says.
I remember when Bren said the same thing. He broke that promise.
"You need to be faster Blue."
"I know Bren. Faster movements and harder punches." I say a little breathless.
"You need to learn how to fight Blue." He says.
"I will cooperate on one condition." I say.
"And what would that be." He says crossing his arms over his chest.
"I want to fight on the streets, with you." I say.
"No, never going to happen Blue." He says.
"Come on Bren, you want me to be able to fight and I want to make a little cash on the side."
"Blue-" He starts but is cut off by his phone ringing.
"Sorry, I have to take this."
He walks out of the room for a couple of minutes. When he comes back he starts to pack up his things.
"Where are you going?" I ask.
"Emergency at work." He says.
"I know what you do B." I say and he looks at me.
"I know about the drugs." I say before continuing " I wont tell. But if dad finds out, he'll kick you out. I don't want you to leave. Promise me you wont leave. After everything, you can't leave."
"I promise you, I will never leave you." He says and wraps me in a hug.
