The cold metal of her locker door came in contact with her fingers. Dylan stared at the stack of books. A piece of paper that did not belong to her was placed on top of them. Reaching for the folded note, she looked around to see if anyone familiar had been around. No one.

meet me in the art room during free period. -Ed

Free period. Austin. Dylan knew that she had to text the singer and let him know that he would need to go to the art room if he didn't want to be by himself. Just as the girl was about to pull out her phone an arm wrapped around her shoulders. "Four more days." The girl's eyes flashed up to Everett's eyes. His smile was large surprisingly. It was strange for Ev to be smiling in the morning.

"Why so happy?"

"This guy was just asked out by the hottest guy in school."

"Oh really." The girl giggled as her best friend ranted about the boy who asked him out. In that moment the thought of Austin vanished. Absentmindedly the girl shoved her phone back into her pocket. Dylan never texted Austin.

Free period had come around. Edwin was leaned against Dylan's locker awaiting her arrival. Austin walked to the library anticipating the arrival for Dylan. Both boys couldn't wait to see the girl. One more excited than the other.

The girl's smile grew as she saw her new friend waiting for her. Ever since she got the note, she couldn't wait to see what Edwin wanted to show her. "I thought I was supposed to meet you there." She called out to Ed as she approached the boy. He shrugged his shoulders before dragging her away to the room.

Austin sat in the library watching the door. He had sat by himself for a good ten minutes. Edwin and Dylan hd yet to show up. He had seen Edwin earlier in the morning but he could have gone home or somewhere else today, but Dylan he hadn't seen at all. She could have been home sick or something of that sorts. The thing was Austin thought he knew Dylan better than this. She would have texted him if she wasn't going to show. As much as he was upset that he had to be by himself during free period, he knew that there had to be a good reason as to why Dylan show.

Dylan sat in the art room waiting for Austin to walk through the door. She thought sh had texted him. Thought. She had yet to realize that she in fact didn't text him. As time passed, her disappointment of a no show of Austin grew. All she wanted was for him to burst through the door. Free period was the only time she would see Austin during school hours. But then again Austin could be home sick. That had happened before. With a loud sigh, the girl turned to look at Edwin who was putting the final touches to his work. "Okay I'm finished."

The girl's eyes met a painting of a silhouette of two people, one girl and one boy, in front of night and day. The girl was stood underneath the night. The moon shined down upon her. Stars filled the navy blue sky. The boy was stood underneath the day. The sunshine warmed the painting. Clouds covered the pale blue sky. Both paintings were drastically different. Complete opposites. What joined them together was the two people staring at each other. Each holding the other's hand. The two blue sky's blended together in harmony. Dylan's jaw dropped at the sight. "Ed this is beautiful." The boy's smile grew.

"Thanks. I guess I was inspired by two certain people. I wanted to show you before I showed Austin. I wanted to make sure you were okay with me showing it to him. I'm still not sure if he would clue in on it. But if he doesn't, I wanted you to have this." Edwin pushed a piece of paper to the girl. On it was the simpler sketch of the painting. The same emotion and feeling was portrayed in it without as much detail.

Dylan smiled over to her friend, "Thanks Edwin."

The end of the day came around. Austin hadn't seen Dylan at all leaving him to suspect  that she had just not been there. Dylan had not seen Austin leaving her to come to the same conclusion. But that changed. Edwin and Dylan walked down the crowded hallway laughing at a joke Ed had just made when they passed the golden haired boy. His stomach dropped. The suspicion that had grown the other day only grew stronger at this sight. A bunch of emotions overwhelmed the boy. His best friend with his crush. Anger, jealousy, disappointment, sadness, any negative feeling the boy could feel absorb him. With a sudden and quick goodbye to Zion, Austin raced out of the school to his car.

The car door slammed and his eyes fell to his phone. To a certain number. His stomach started turning. His fingers tapped away at the screen.

Hey this is the boy you met at work, my name is Austin. I was right. Dylan and Edwin are together.
