Aya knew she should be paying attention but that one kid that she bumped into earlier, had such a nice face. The seating was perfect so that she could stare all she wanted without being noticed and she planned to take full advantage of that. As the teacher droned on she daydreamed of maybe actually talking to him, but she knew better than to think she could be anything but awkward long enough to hold a conversation. Across the room, he furrowed his eyebrows in concentration and she almost screamed. This boy was going to end the entire existence if Aya Muntz just by being the cutest thing she had ever lied her eyes on.
He turned his head and locked eyes with Aya, she was more scared than she ever had been before, he gave a small smile and in her frantic thoughts she forgot to return it. He gave his focus back to the board as she wanted to punch herself in the gut. 'WHAT DOES IT MEAN???' her mind was running as fast as her heart and she thought she might explode. The bell rang and she was forced to think of something other than that really nice jawline.
Later at lunch she spotted him sitting near her, she wanted nothing but death. 'Did he know I was staring?' 'Does he think I'm weird?' She was thinking so loud she half expected someone to turn around and respond. He noticed her and looked her way. She wanted to scream. He gave a smile, that was going to put her in the grave, and said,
"Hey I'm Dax, you?"
She was sure she just learned the name of her future husband,
"H-hey I'm Aya,"
Was that her name? She couldn't recall as he grinned at her. She was the happiest she had been since she had started the dreaded school year.

It had been a month, one whole month of Aya and Dax being friends and even after all that time, butterflies insist on making her feel like she is going to barf. They weren't really close and stood in their own circle of friends but Aya couldn't imagine getting to be anything more, she didn't exactly have the best of luck. He might of constantly been on her mind but in real life that doesn't matter. He had asked to meet her in the courtyard after school and all of his friends had been whispering to each other whenever she would enter the room and it has making her nervous. The day was almost over and she low-key felt like bursting into tears out of anxiety. The bell rang and she slowly made her way to the courtyard, she was told to wait buy this old ancient payphone that was there, it was functional but no one we as going to pay for a call. She saw him standing sheepishly and her heart rate quickened. He looked lost and she just wanted to make him feel better but that would require going over there. She took a deep breathe and walked over there, full of fake confidence. He took notice of her walking over and almost seemed like he was panicking. She faltered and then took off towards him again. She stopped in front of him, he was looking at is feet and fidgeting.
He looked up for a second and finally broke the awkward silence,"So I have a question..." he trailed off, extremely unsure of himself.
Aya nodded to tell him to continue.
"Do you have a quarter?" He took a second to gesture at the old payphone, "I need to call my mom and tell her that I think I found the girl of my dreams," he looked up and gave her that iconic heart-stealing smile. Her expression blanked and was speechless, she didn't respond for a full 30 seconds and he looked down ashamed about thinking that would work. She came back to her senses and didn't say anything but instead gave him the biggest hug she could manage.
"You're so stupid!" She yelled and laughed.
Both of them thought themselves to be the luckiest person alive.
