Some people are worth melting for.

The rest of the day no other events of fighting broke out visibly as a school announcement was broadcasted during second period. It warned that whoever tried to bully or pick a fight with another Atrian or for that matter a student of Marshall High, they’d be expelled for unorderly conduct of the highest degree. Everyone one was on edge it seemed and forcing the teenagers to play nice with each other wasn’t helping at all. Eden didn’t think it was going to last long and in fact though that this calm was more like the calm before the storm hit.
Even with the little stunt in class earlier the Atrians were placed in classes allowing them to learn how every other human was learn as well as human education. The had been getting education in the Sector but from the policies and reports about the Sector it didn’t seem like the best learning environment or the best place to send a Human teacher even if they personally had no qualms with the Atrians themselves.
At lunch, if no one had noticed that Atrians were different from Humans they’d notice it then as the Atrians had a completely different meal plan created especially for their needs. Eden had heard that they were allergic to a lot of Human loved things like salt and chocolate. He wondered if the same went for Humans if they ate anything that was normal for the Atrians.
“How can they eat that mush?” Lillian complained probably for the Atrians as she glanced at them from where they sat in the corner far away from everyone else and together as always. “It probably tastes disgusting. Can’t the school have at least added something…”She stopped remembering the Arian’s special diet before letting out a huff of frustrated air, “At least something to make it look at least appetizing. It’s all gray looking.” As she said this she stuffed her spoon full of chocolate jello into her mouth, sucking on the spoon as her eyes went to the Atrians again.
“Would you stop staring at them, please? They’re going to think we are a bunch of lunatics the way you keep staring at them like that.” He complained, kicking her in the leg to make her jump back around. She pushed him with her arms before rubbing where he’d kicked her, “Don’t do that! You’re going to give me bruises.” With that he let out his own sign of annoyance as he pointed at his arm. With the sleeve shirt he was wearing, anyone could see the dots forming of where Lil’s fingers hand dug into him that morning. She only laughed at him telling him, “Oh that’s nothing sweetie. Besides men should get bruises it makes you guys look tough. But ladies shouldn’t have a scratch on them it’s not lady-like.” At this he frowned at her and shook his head finding no reason to argue with her as she wouldn’t listen. He scooped up some of his own jello and ate it before glancing back at the Atrians, his eyes instinctively wondering over to the one with blue eyes. He now sported a bloodied nose oddly enough it was already looking better from what he’d seen this morning. Do they heal faster too?
“Who’s the one staring now?” Lillian teased beside him before adding, “Looks like you got caught too.” True to her words the blue eyed Atrian was staring back at him, his eyes intense but no longer did they carry the icy cold. Instead it was replaced with something more intriguing as those eyes seemed curious to find Eden staring at him. Eden returned the curious glance but not for long as the other Atrians began to look in their direction as well and he quickly turned around. “Don’t turn around they’re all staring at us now.” He warned Lil but to his mortification she did turn around and gave a flirty wave mouthing, ”Hi.” in their direction. As he glanced at the Atrians wanting to see what their reaction would be he saw a few give tiny smiles back but none of them made huge efforts to return the mouthed hello. It almost relieved him and sadden him that these people were so guarded to not even be able to say hello to a stranger like Lil who was utterly harmless. He assumed that the Atrians had a lot of emotions going on in them and a lot of disregard for the people who had killed off many of their people and put the rest of them in the Sector or the Crate. It made him wonder if these young Atrians would ever conform to an act of terrorism as they now had the chance to hurt the humans. It wouldn’t be wise as it would blow any other chances that these people get to come outside the Sector, freely.
