"Anna! wake up! it's okay!" Soraya shook me awake from a nightmare. Which occurred almost nightly. "Shhhh shhh it's fine, it's fine."

I sat up and snuggled into Soraya, sobbing into her neck, tonight it was one of my worse ones, a flashback nightmare.

I probably sat there crying into Soraya's neck for a good 15 minutes before I could finally calm my-self down from sobbing to hiccuping.

"You okay now?" She whispered into my ear.

I nodded still clinging to her like my life depended on it.

I was still on the couch, the cat had left and the light was on in Soraya's room, telling me that i had been on the couch for a while.

She let go of me and sat back into the couch. "you all good?" she asked brushing the hair out of her face.

I nodded and went into my bedroom.

It was still messy from this morning when I had neglected to make it, so I climbed in under the covers and pulled my pillow closer.

I couldn't fall asleep, which made me think, and when I thought, I thought about that horrible day. Which made me start crying softly again.

I sniffled and got up, walking through the doorway that connected mine and Soraya's rooms. I climbed into bed with her, feeling safer and less scared.

Soraya rolled over and patted my back. "Goodnight Anna." she cooed softly and went back to sleep, shortly after that I followed her action.

That morning I awoke when the sun was rising. I pulled on a pair of shorts and a T-shirt and went down to the barn.

Sundance was munching happily on her hay in her big cozy stall. I pulled on a rope halter and clipped some reins to it. She protested a bit, not wanting to leave the comfort of her stall and hay, but after a few seconds she followed me out into the dooryard, I halted her and swung up onto her bareback for a quick morning ride to stretch her out.

As soon as I got out of the small trail that opened up into a huge field, I urged Sundance into a trot, into a canter, then a gallop.

She sped along with ease across the open field, the sun shining in our faces as we neared the edge of the field.

I turned her into a small trail and slowed her to a speedy canter.

Gradually the trail got steeper and turned into a hill, and when I got to the top it opened up to a clearer view of the sunrise. I stopped her at the top and let her graze, while I lay across her back lazily watching the sun come up.

Today was going to be quite warm, so I was glad I got up early while it was still cool, maybe I would invite Annie over for a swim in the pond later, or go out for ice cream.

Sundance suddenly spooked sideways when another horse and rider burst into the clearing, I slipped off onto the ground with a thud, almost knocking the wind out of me.

I quickly stood gasping when I saw a very handsome guy on a tall bay horse.

"I'm so sorry!" the handsome guy said. He rode his horse closer, which kinda scared me and I swung back up on Sundance and quickly nudged her forward into the trail from whence we came.

"Wait! I didn't mean to make you fall!" he called after me following me into the woods. I carefully nudged my mare faster down the hilly trail and into the field.

I squeezed her into a gallop across the field, hoping I would get out of sight.

Sundance glided into the dooryard next to Soraya who was cleaning up the poop and hay.

"Careful, don't run her too hard Anna."

Two minutes later the boy trotted into the dooryard next to me.

"Well who's this?" Soraya asked me.

I shrugged my shoulders.

"Look, I didn't mean to make you fall, I didn't know you were there!" the boy said trying to catch his breath.

I crossed my arms and refused to look at him as I walked Sundance out in the arena.

"I'm sorry." he sulked patting his handsome tall horse.

"Who are you?" asked Soraya who dumped some manure in the wheelbarrow.

"Oh, excuse my manners, I'm David Tenngren, of calico gate farms, and this is my horse Hank." He stuck out his hand for Her to shake.

"Oh, is your father Alex Tenngren?" she asked.

"Yes, that's him." David smiled, and I wasn't going to lie, it was one of those smiles that make you want to like someone. And I did want to like him, but I also didn't.

"Anna, will you please accept his apology? after all, it was an accident." Soraya sighed and crossed her arms.

I groaned and nodded to him.

"There, she accepts." Said Soraya. "Now, Anna please show him to the water trough so his horse can drink."

I grumbled and cautiously walked Sundance In The direction of the water trough.

"Why didn't you just say you were sorry?" asked David.

I sighed and motioned to him that I don't speak.

"That's too bad, a pretty girl like you ought to have a nice voice too." he said flirtily.

I only glared at him in response.

"If looks could kill." he mumbled under his breath.

A/N:

So what does anyone think? I mean like I kinda like It, but comment or anything else to let me know if you do!
