The rain lashed onto the deck of the Albion , Men slipped and slid down the wood, shouting at each other, and Attempting to load cannons. There was a roar from somewhere within the mist, and shot flew into the wood of the Albions mighty hull, splintering men and wood alike. William, the first mate, ducked behind the mast as the splinters fell from the air, then cast a searching glance across the deck, looking for the captain. He was by the wheel, looking wet and hopeless, as the enemy ship came into view. A large french vessel, sailing for napoleon in this pointless war, came forth.

The Men of the Albion snatched up any gun they could find, and took aim.

"FIRE" Shouted the captain, followed by the blast of muskets propelling balls of lead at the french, who promptly fell to the deck, faces contorted in pain, blood pouring from their wounds.  Accompanying the lead balls of the muskets, were the large six pound cannon balls, screaming through the air , and smashing a path of destruction through the french ship.

Lightning struck the mast of the Albion, lighting the end like a torch wrapped in oily rags, and then , nature defying it's self, it struck again in the same place, resulting in two men who had been on the rigging falling to the deck ablaze.

As soon as the fire was put out by the unrelenting rain, and the mist had cleared a little, the grappling hooks were thrown, latching on to the French wood. The ropes were pulled in by the strongest of the English men , and as the Ships came together, the Men pulled rapiers and flintlocks, and jumped decks. The French responded with steel of their own, and the nations clashed. blood ran over the deck as the first man was run through, and lead shattered bones, and shredded skin. William was engaged in a fight with a big, muscular French man in possession of a rapier.

The Frenchman blocked a swipe from William, then attempted to stab him in the foot. William kneed him in the face, stabbed him in the throat, and kicked the choking Frenchman, Blood gushing from his neck, overboard. Most the French were dead, and the Englishmen advanced towards the wheel.

The French captain took one look, cocked his pistol, pointed it at the floor, and fired. The ship exploded with orange flame, and William was thrown overboard. He saw his comrades writhing in the water, melted beyond recognition, then passed out.
