What is the contest about?

Croon Magazine's Annual Prose, Poetry, & Artwork Contest is meant to recognize the best pieces in (you guessed it!) prose, poetry, and artwork. 2017 is the first year this contest is running and we hope to keep doing this every year.

What do I write/draw about?

Anything you want! There is no specific theme for this contest. The only restriction is no fanfiction for prose or poetry. We want to promote original fiction.

What can I submit?

You can submit prose (so short stories, flash fiction, etc...), poetry (any form!), and artwork (drawings, illustrations, photography, etc...)

Unfortunately, you cannot submit novels or excerpts from novels, as they are too long and as of now, we don't have the time to read them. We will consider opening this up for next year.

When is the deadline?

The deadline is January 20th, 2018 at 11:59 PM, whenever that is for you depending on where you live.

What are the age limits? Is it restricted to certain countries?

There is no age limit or country restriction! This is open to all!

What are the word limits for prose and poetry?

Read the page titled "Guidelines" in this book (it's the next page). It explains all the requirements.

How many pieces can I submit?

Once again, this is explained under "Guidelines."

Are there things I can't write about?

Again, this is explained under "Guidelines."

What are the prizes?

The winner in each division (prose, poetry, and artwork) will be published in our issues.

We will also include an interview and discussion of their work in the issues (this is optional, and the winner(s) can decline)

The winners' wattpad profile/social media links/upcoming works will be promoted on our profile/platform until the 2018 contest starts (so the promotion will be for about ten months)

Unfortunately, we cannot provide monetary prizes for the 2017 contest. As we continue to grow, however, we will look into this option.

Before you leave any questions, click NEXT to read the Guidelines page, as that may answer some of your inquiries!
