These guidelines come straight from the website, but it's posted here for your convenience. Important reminder: you can post your work on wattpad, but it must be e-mailed as an attachment to be considered for the contest!

G u i d e l i n e s

Carefully read the requirements for each category. If you do not adhere to the requirements, your submission will be automatically rejected.

FOR ALL SUBMISSIONS

- All submissions must be e-mailed to croonmagazine[AT]gmail.com

- Please submit a third-person biography with your submissions, so we can use it if your piece is published. 

- You must provide a name (it DOES NOT have to be your real name). In addition, you may mention your occupation, social media links, other publications, or a funny/interesting description about yourself

- Do not give any information about your identity in your submissions, so as to ensure all submissions are judged blindly. The aforementioned biography must be written in a separate word document

- Do not submit explicitly sexual, erotic, or pornographic content; we reserve the right to reject your submission if we believe it has violated our content rules

- Do not plagiarize

- Just be appropriate and respectful


FOR ALL WRITING SUBMISSIONS

- Standard, readable font with an acceptable size. We suggest using Times New Roman, size 12

- Must submit your piece as a Microsoft Word document or a Google Doc 

- Write the title at the top of the page

- Watch spelling and grammar

- Submissions must be mostly in English; please include a translation if you use phrases in another language

- Write what you want—you got this!

PROSE

- Any genre except fanfiction; we want to promote original fiction

- Underneath the title, write what genre your piece falls in. If it falls under multiple genres, feel free to write them all, and underline the two main genres your piece encompasses

- A minimum of 200 words and a maximum of 3000 words; anything above or below the word limit will not be considered

- Underneath the genre, write how many words your piece is

- Submit a maximum of 2 pieces of prose at a time

POETRY

- Underneath the title, write what style your poem falls under (for example: free verse, sonnet)

- A maximum of 2 pages for a single poem

- Submit a maximum of 4 poems at a time

- Feel free to style/space your poem however you want


FOR ALL ART SUBMISSIONS

- Art submissions include drawings, paintings, illustrations, and photography

- Can be done by hand or using technology

- Resubmission of new work is allowed if rejected

- Submissions must be in PDF, .jpg, .png, or put in a Microsoft Word document or a Google Doc

- Image resolution of a 150 dpi or more is recommended, so your pictures are as clear as possible!

- Title each piece

- If submitting a collection, title the collection, not the individual pieces

- If you wish, you may include an artist's statement describing your piece and what it means to you

DRAWINGS, PAINTINGS, ILLUSTRATIONS

- A maximum of 3 works of art at a time

- Take a good-quality picture of your work(s) and e-mail it to us

PHOTOGRAPHY

- A maximum of 5 pictures at a time
