~Hours later~

Alena, Ari's mom, came home with worms on her wooden basket. Alyssa and Andrew rushed to their mom and took the basket away from her.

Ari rushed to her mom, but not to get the basket full of worms, but to check her.

Ari: Mom! Take a seat, you gotta rest, you're tired!

Alena: No Ari... I'm okay... Just let me-

Ari: No mom, I'll do it, I'll set up dinner

Ari rushed to their kitchen to bring out their leaf plates and set it on top of their wooden table.

He tried to search for the basket full of worms. Then he found it near his older twins' room.

When he looked inside, they only left 10 piece of wiggling worms. He sighed out of frustration; he picked it up and flew to the kitchen to put them in the leaf plate.

After everything, he called everyone. Everyone appeared, except Alyssa and Andrew, who were apparently full.

Everyone was eating at the table. When his mom spoke.

Alena: Ari, dear?

Ari: Yes mom?

Alena: Tomorrow's your 15th birthday right?

Ari: Yeah??

Alena: Well... I'm afraid that tomorrow, I have to be giving new task

Ari: And that is?

Alena: You have to hunt worms for us...

Ari: Why?!

Alena: Ari I'm getting old... I need rest for every now and then...

Ari: Are you sure you want me to do it? Why cant Alyssa and Andrew do it?

Alena: I cant trust them... They're careless and reckless, remember?

Ari: I... I understand mom... I wont let you down!

Alena: Thank you so much Ari...

~After dinner~

Ari went in to his room, he looked out at his window, and saw the California forest was peaceful.

He saw his other specie, havinf fun inside. They are having fun, chriping with joy. While him? Suffering from the towering tasks given to him.

He wanted to escape his home and live on his own without hunting food.

Ari's POV

Ugh... I'm now sort of regretting for being a responsible bird in the household... I wish I was never this responsible...

If I have the opportunity to change my actions in the past, I would... But I sadly cant...

Why must I suffer? Do I really deserve this suffering? I have been innocent for the rest of my life! Should my older twins suffer?! Not me?!

End of POV

Ari screeched and threw one of his stuffs to the floor. Then, he went to bed, mad.

~In the Morning~

Ari woke up in his own sweat. He sweated a pool of them. Why? He had a nightmare, and glad it qas just that.

He drowsily walked outside to clean up the mess he havent cleaned last night, which is the living room.

While cleaning, his mom got out of her room and greeted him.

Alena: Morning Ari

Ari: Morning mom!
