Wildkit, Wildkit wake up! Something hard poked Wildkit's side and his eyes flew open. He relaxed when he realized he was just a sister, Mistykit. He let out a groan. What? Can't you see I'm trying to sleep? Mistykit tilted her head, and gave an annoyed flick of her tail. She butted her head against Wildkit's side, trying to keep him awake. You'll be able to sleep after the ceremony! Wildkit rolled over, exposing his belly to the sun. Kits aren't allowed to attend ceremonies. Yeah we are! Just not meetings! Besides, I don't think you want to miss this one! A ceremony is a ceremony. Wildkit grumbled. He spread his jaws in a huge yawn. Wake me up when it's over, and tell me what the cats new name is. Mistykit shrugged. Fine, but after, you'll still be Wildkit, and you will have to call me Mistypaw! Pity you want to sleep through your apprentice ceremony. She bounded out of the den, and it took a while before her words actually registered in Wildkit's brain. He scrambled to his paws, and shook off the last traces of tiredness. Coming! He called after his sister.

He raced towards her, but then stopped dead in his tracks. shaking his head, he slowly walked backwards, back into the nursery. The monster had his sister! Wildkit was always told he had a big imagination, and that's why he was named Wildkit. Because his thoughts ran wild. But he clearly saw a huge scary cat with a razor sharp tongue, eating Mistykit. He blinked, and saw the image replaced by his mother, Maplenose. The tortoise shell queen was swiping her tongue feircly over his sister, cleaning her in preparation for the ceremony.

The blue gray she-kit struggled and complained, but could not wrigle free. Wildkit knew that if he went out there, he would become his mom's next victim. He was about to turn tail and flee, he would miss every ceremony the clans ever had if he would have to deal with that before them, but the monster let go of his sister, and spotted him. He ran, but his enemy was faster, she pinned him down to the ground playfully and began to wash him. He struggled, but soon learned it would take longer if he kept messing up his long brownish red coat.

Maplenose let go of him, just as the leader, Icestar, a white tom with shocking blue eyes, called the meeting. His words rang clear through the meadow, and seemed to echo for moons before it stopped. Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallroot for a clan meeting! Cats began to poke their heads out of their dens, clustering under a tree stump, with ginormous roots spiraling into the ground. the one that the leader used to address his clan.

When all the cats were under Tallroot, Icestar spoke. Wildkit and Mistykit have reached their six moon, and it's time to give them their apprentice name. Icestar guestured to Mistykit with his tail. The she-cat looked like she might explode with excitement. Wildkit could imagine that happening all too well. From this moment on, you will be known as Mistypaw. Your mentor will be Thrushsong. He said, nodding to a young warrior with blazing green eyes. Thrushsong, I depend on you to teach Mistypaw the ways of the warrior code and help her be the best cat the clan needs her to to be. Mistypaw bounded forward, and touched noses with her new mentor. The clan excitedly called her new name. Mistypaw! Mistypaw!

Icestar beackoned Wildkit forward. Shaking with anticipation, he stepped towards the leader of thunderclan. Stonefoot, the white tom said, looking at a cream cat with grey paws,  A lot of our finest warriors were once your apprentices, and I hope you teach your skills to this young one as well. Wildkit, from this  moment on you will be known as Wildpaw, until you receive your warrior name. Wildpaw gave his leaders shoulder a respectful lick,  before going to meet his mentor. He listened contently is the clan called his name, as well as his sisters. Wildpaw. Wildpaw thought to him self. I'm going to be the best warrior there ever was!
