Mintypaw's feet were about to fall off. She had been out since dawn, collecting herbs for batwing. Now she layed curled up on her nest of moss, tail blocking the light of the setting sun from her eyes. At least good had come out of her hard work. Batwing said that she did such a good job collecting herbs that if no cat got that serious of an injury, the only time they would need to restock was if  leaves turned stale.

Mintypaw? Groaning, the she cat lifted her head, and saw Wildpaw standing in the entrance to the medicine den. Sorry, Wildpaw quickly said. I can come back later if your sleeping, i just- no, no it's fine. Mintypaw assured him, stifling a yawn. Batwing would have probably woken me up right after you left to go to the StarStone anyway. Wildpaw straightened. That's right! Oh, now i feel bad for bothering you, but, umm, I'm a little confused. Do have time for me? For the first time mintypaw saw the fear in wildpaw's eyes. He wasn't just confused, he was scared. She nodded. Yeah. Come sit. He stepped lightly into the small cave, and sat next to mintypaw, wrapping his tail over his paws. A twoleg might think he was calm, but cats had better senses than them, and mintypaw could both see the terror in his eyes, and feel the fear coming off him in waves.

Wildpaw started talking. So um, i went to sleep, and well, I- Mintypaw! Are you coming? Batwing poked his head into the den, holding her traveling herbs in his mouth. He narrowed his eyes when he saw Wildpaw. What are you doing here? Are you trying to keep her in camp? She has to go. Now. Mintypaw felt her pelt grow hot with both disbelief and embarrassment. Did batwing think they loved each other? Her mentor was way to suspicious for his own good, they were only apprentices, and she was learning to be a medicine cat!

She turned towards Wildpaw, trying to keep her eyes from showing how embarrassed she was of her mentor. Sorry, looks like i dont have time, can this possibly wait? Wildpaw hesitated, and for a second mintypaw thought he would insist she stay, but he eventually nodded. Yeah, i guess you have to share tongues with StarClan. Mintypaw rested her tail on his shoulder, confused at why he was so stressed. Then she remembered batwing. She looked up, and saw him glaring at the both of them, right. She quickly stood up. We will be back when you wake up Wildpaw, you can talk to me then. I should be off. She took a deep breath, took the herbs from batwing and padded out into the clearing, feeling wildpaw's gaze warm on her pelt.
