"This is it, Aidy," says Mum as the car pulls up in front of the University. I take a deep breath and push open the car door, stepping outside.

Olympus University stands before me, tall and intimidating. It's got the look of an ancient Victorian mansion with long glass windows and dark, curved doors. There is even a turret and a flag waving from the top of it.

People are everywhere. Students in small gatherings on the field, catching up after the holidays, mentors with red sashes showing new students to their dorms, and newbies like me saying goodbye to their families and getting ready to start another adventure.

Dad takes my suitcases from the boot and hugs me. "Can't believe my son has grown up! Already in University."

Mum hugs me next, "Remember, try and get on with your dorm mates. And don't get takeaway every night. You need to eat well to study well. Let loose too though, this is your first year in University and you should have fun. Not too much fun, though. And do all your chores. Just because you're living away from us doesn't mean I won't keep an eye on you-

"I got it, Mum," I laugh.

She quickly wipes a tear away and smiles. Dad says, "You know how we are, just worried for our Aidy."

I want to complain not to call me that but I'm not going to see them again for too long. I'd never admit it- I quite like my nickname, it's grown on me.

Joseph holds out a fist for a bump. He's going through his 'too cool to care' stage at fourteen and you have no idea how stupid it is. Mum says I went through it too. I don't believe it though, it's way too stupid for me.

I ignore his fist and pull him in for a hug, slapping his back. Joseph groans and mutters something about personal space. "Don't mess with Mum and Dad while I'm away, yeah?" I say.

He begins to protest that he'd never when Lainey interrupts him by pushing him away and hugging my legs. "Do you  have to go, Aidy!?" she says.

I pick her up and tickle her sides while she shrieks wildly. "Yes I do, missy."

Lainey puts on her serious face. "Not if I hide you in the boot."

I kiss her cheek with a laugh and plop her on the hood of the car, "You're scary for a six year old, Lainey."

Finally, everyone squashes me with a family hug. With minimum tears shed from Mum and a last promise to come back with a bigger boot to get me out of her from Lainey, my family get in the car and drive away, waving wildly until they are out of sight.

I turn to face Olympus University. I pull my suitcases and walk up to the wide, open gates. "This is it," I whisper to myself.

Then I step over the line.

Eeeeek! That's the first chapter then! In the next one you'll meet his dorm mates. Can't wait! Oh, and here's a picture of  Adrian for you'll:
