The end of school was near. But when the end of the first semester was coming there was always an end of the year formal. Todoroki, who hated dances and formals, actually wanted to go to the dance this year. There was this kid in his ASL class, Izuku Midoriya, he had the 5 parameters of ASL down to a science.

He was such a fluid crisp signer too. They had never really "talked" before but they would sign to each other here and there.

He wouldn't consider Midoriya a friend, more so of a associate. He wasn't that comfortable with Midoriya yet to consider him that. But he knew that he wanted to give this dance thing a chance, since it was his senior year in high school, he also wanted to give his sexuality a chance. He had never dated anyone before. Of either sex and he had came to terms with his sexuality this year and he wanted to be proud of it. The last thing he also wanted to give a chance was Midoriya and a possible love.

Todoroki had stayed up all night to learn some new signs to ask Midoriya to the dance. The dance was on Friday and it was Wednesday night. So he was very late but also determined. He really liked this guy.

The next day Todoroki walked into his ASL class way before it was supposed to start. He saw Midoriya signing to the teacher. Even though they were only in ASL 1, Midoriya was advanced and took learning new signs into his own hands. That was why Todoroki had to learn the new signs to be able to ask him to this dance.

He was nervous he couldn't help it so... he sat down in his seat and didn't even look in his direction. Like any person with a crush would do. Midoriya coincidentally sat right in front of him. The class started and Todoroki could barely even talk to Midoriya, even though they had to for class and not just for recreational reasons. Todoroki just had eyes like lasers staring at the back of his head.

Ring Ring Ring.

The bell had rung and Todoroki had barely spoken a word to Midoriya.

"Hey-" Todoroki spat out. Midoriya with a bright smile turned around.

'Hey' he signed. Oh so we are gonna sign this whole thing. He takes this ASL thing to another level.

'Hi.' he signed back to him.

'What's up'

' I'm fine. I have a question.'

Midoriya smiled and nodded. Signaling him to ask it.

'You want to go to the dance with me?'

Midoriya's face froze and a blush came over it.

"Yes! Of course." He spoke out very loudly. Todoroki was very taken aback by the reponse.

"I-I wasn't expecting that answer." he laughed and scratched his head. Midoriya smiled.

"I have to go now but you can pick me up and six sharp tomorrow." Midoriya smiled backing away and bumping into the door frame. "oops" he said and pet the door and left but not before giving Todoroki on last glance.

     Friday.

Todoroki walked into ASL the next day but Midoriya wasn't there. The bell rung. Was he avoiding Todoroki.

The teacher started attendance.

"Uhh Todoroki?"

"Yes? Oh here"

She continued down the list.

"No Midoriya strange.." The teacher said. The door slammed open.

"So sorry I am late." Midoriya told the teacher and gave her his late pass. Midoriya walked to his seat and tapped on Todoroki's desk. Signalling a hello. Todoroki smiled.

Class soon after started and then the teacher gave them some talking time before class was over.

Todoroki tapped on Midoriya's shoulder.

"Hey, why were you late?" Todoroki asked.

"You couldn't tell." Midoriya flipped his "hair' that was looked extra shiny,

"Your hair." Todoroki reached up and twirled in between his fingers. "lovely"  he smiled and gave it a little tug.

"So about the dance..." Midoriya started. Todoroki got anxious what was he gonna say... can he not go... does he not like him. "I can't dance." he sighed in relief.

"You know we don't actually have to go to that...It was just a cover to ask you out."

Midoriya blushed "Well it worked." He smiled "You can still pick me up at six and we will do something else."

Sorry if the ASL was confusing. Especially for those who don't know ASL. I'm in ASL one at my school and I love learning about Deaf people and there culture. What other languages do you all know? I, of course, know English, I'm in Spanish Three at my school, and ASL one. I'm so cultured lol. Jk, not really.
