Hadyel Marrien was in her bedroom watching the news on her cell phone. It was 3:00am. The reporter on the news kept a calm voice which made him sound like he was not all that worried, but he sure did look like it.
His face was completely red and dripped in sweat as he said, "Th-the schools all around the world have been closed today at 2:45am due to missiles being launched." The reporter wiped his forehead with a baby blue handkerchief, and continued on. "About five minutes ago, North Korea fired it's missiles. They claim that it is so powerful, that if it hits Washington D.C, it will destroy the rest of the U.S. Dean?" The screen switched to a different scene showing a man in a bright yellow rain coat made of dyed leather, while holding a microphone.
"Thanks, Jake." he said. He seemed to be yelling as the wind rapidly tugged at his raincoat. "Right now, I'm in the woodlands, Texas, and as you can see there is a strange light that looks like a shooting star, but it's only not as fast. So as you can see, the light is going diagonal... Uh, not straight." he pointed a fat finger of something that looked like a red shooting star. What about you, Jen?" Right when the man had finished his sentence, it showed another scene with a woman with blonde hair wearing all pink and black.
In her panicked, New York City accent she said, "Okay. I'm right outside of the Whitehouse, an- Crap! The missile is already halfway there, and, oh my God, it is going at an awesome speed. Everyone say your prayers, and look out your window, you can see the light, it's already super close, oh, and if that nuke hits, it's radiation will spread all around the world, killing billions of people... Oh, sh-" the camera turned off. Hadyel crawled off of her bed, which was just a matress on the floor, and looked out her window. She could hear a strange booming sound. The ground was rapidly shaking. And then, CRASH! Hadyel screamed as the roof slammed onto the floor, with her underneath it. The world went black. Her ears were ringing loudly.
Hadyel awoke, and she was aching everywhere on her body. She felt like puking everywhere. She was almost crushed under the weight of the heavy roof. She slowly army crawled out of under the roof. Everything was vibrating and making a loud buzzing noise, like old lights in a garage, when you turn them on they are kind of dim and flickering as they make a noise that sound like a bzzzzzzz zizzzzzz. The weather was hot and burning, while the sky was red and purple. She stepped onto what looked like it used to be somebody's driveway, but was now a heap of radioactive dust and ashes. There was still a road, though.
"Wait, if we're in Montana, it must've been even worse in Washington D.C. " Hadyel thought out loud.
Music for story:
She walked along the remains of the road. She heard a voice screaming incredibly loudly.
"Help!" it cried. It was coming the top of a hill made out of junk.
"I'm coming!" Hadyel yelled as she ran up, while stumbling and tripping. She tried really hard not to get cut, otherwise the horrible things would get into her blood, and enter her heart and then that's when the radiation would've kicked in. The was a loud hissing noise. If she didn't have a half-shaved haircut, she could've blocked it out. When she approached the top of the hill she saw one of the people she most hated at school, Kartre Karlemell, who was a popular football kid. He was surrounded by a huge three headed mutant rattlesnake. Even though Hadyel highly disliked him, she just couldn't let him die! That would make her seem like a murderer. Hadyel immediately grabbed a random object from the ground, a sharp shard of wood, and stabbed it into the snake's back. It turned around and let out a roar-like hiss.
