When North Korea's nuclear missiles actually hit the U.S, the whole world gets effected by the radiation, but luckily there were some children in Montana who didn't realize their own bedrooms were safe spots, so they heard the noise, the ground shoo...
As the party was leaving, Nicolas stood there, watching them walk out the door. Hadyel noticed and sprinted over.
"Nick? Aren't you coming?" she asked. "You can join our party now. Please?" Nicolas took out a crumpled out piece of paper and stared at it. He then folded it up and slipped it back into his pocket.
"Yes, I'll come." he said. Hadyel let out a loud happy screech made with pure excitement. "Wait, hold on a second." said Nicolas. "Only as long if I can bring Leonard. Y-you know. My dragon." Hadyel nodded.
"Of course you can bring him, he's pretty cool. Plus, remember, the world is destroyed, so there aren't any rules here!" Hadyel grabbed the hand of Nicolas and ran to the others. They stared at Hadyel with a worried look on their faces. She nodded, and everything was back to normal. They walked over the broken sliding door, being careful not to step on any glass. Thank goodness the freezing cold wasn't there anymore, but it was still bad weather. Sun's heat poured down on them, like too much hot sauce on your scrambled eggs. Kartre slipped off his hoody. He was wearing a very ugly and embarrassing tie-dye short sleeved shirt that had the text "Peace For All". Hadyel kept her hoodie on. She ran over to Isabella, punching Mya as she ran by.
"Hey, Isabella?" She whispered into her friend's ear. "Wanna know what we should do at night while the boys are sleeping?" Isabella shrugged. Hadyel went on, "While our crushes are sleeping, we could sneak up on them at night, and kiss them on the lips without waking them!" Hadyel had trouble not laughing through her last sentence. Isabella let out a loud laugh, while Hadyel did an annoying screech, which she called "laughter".
Kartre confedently strutted over and asked, "So, what are you two laughing about?" Isabella laughed even harder.
Hadyel said, "You'll see, you'll see." They laughed so annoyingly, that Kartre had to cover his ears. He speed-walked away over to Nicolas. They were quietly talking, so the girls wouldn't hear. Mya didn't talk to anyone. When they would all stop to talk. Instead she just sat there on the sand quietly sketching quite demonic images in a composition notebook.
Finally, the last time the group stopped to chat, she yelled, "Okay, dum-dums! Can we just get on with the stupid useless journey?!" Everyone shut up, and started walking again.
The Sun turned to a black color, and lay low in the sky, turning the world into a dark nighttime purple. Hadyel grabbed some twigs and moss to make beds and nest for everybody. Everyone just layed there, watching the stars which seemed to ripple like pebbles dropping into fine, untouched water. Nicolas pretended to be asleep. He waited. When he thought everyone was asleep, he woke up Kartre.
"Do you wonder how we were, like, the only people that didn't die, but then everyone else did?" Kartre got up immediately. He crawled over to Hadyel and stared at her soft, angel-like face.
"I honestly have no idea why. Maybe we have some kind of... Anti radioactive thing in us, or maybe we are immortal, and we have weird scientific things in us that make us unable to die." Hadyel was half asleep, partly listening to the conversation that the boys were having. She really wanted to cry, but then the boys would know that she was half awake. Nicolas then walked over and kissed her on the cheek. Hadyel thought she might explode from how much she had a crush. One of her crushes just kissed her! The joy was interrupted by one of Mya's loud grunts, and she was probably faking her sleep. Mya was probably somewhere in a hollowed out cave. Nobody could find her in this kind of light. The boys went back to their nest that Hadyel had made for them. When the boys were eventually snoring, Isabella and Hadyel got up at the same time. Hadyel walked over to Nicolas and kissed him on the cheek, while Isabella did the same with Kartre. They then switched.
Hadyel pinched Kartre gently on the cheek and whispered, "Maybe your not so bad, after all." Kartre woke up not daring to move, not daring to startle her. Now he new that Hadyel didn't actually completely hate him. He felt a small sprinkle of happiness in his heart. Hadyel poked his cheek and giggled, and pinched him one more time. "Wow. Not a light sleeper, now are you?" Hadyel and Isabella went back to their nest, and fell fast asleep.
The Sun was shining bright above them. When Nicolas got up, he found Isabella and Hadyel screaming for joy.
"We're not dead yet!" Bella screeched. She did a cartwheel while screaming, "We've survived one night of the apocalypse!" Both the girls were shrieking with glee. Mya threw a rock a Hadyel and missed. Mya marched over to ruin all the fun.
"Oh, my God. Who cares if we're alive. Y'know we're all gonna die sooner or later." she said as she glared at Hadyel.
Isabella laughed and said, "This means that we are probably the only people who are actually alive right now. The nuke didn't kill us!" they both giggled. Mya didn't laugh.
"Hey, are you two, like, lesbian or something like that?" Mya asked, with a hint of total jerkiness in her voice. She looked at Nicolas, there was a rush of pink that began to grow darker and darker on his cheeks. He was blushing really hard. Mya laughed and pointed at him.
"Aww, does Nick want to defend his lesbian girlfriend?" she snorted, and walked off, taking Kartre's survival kit with her.
"Hey, give that back!" shouted Kartre has he chased after her. Nicolas spotted something amazing... But what was that lying in the distance? All he could make out was the flat black spread.
"Guys!" he shouted. "Look over there in the distance!" everyone stopped what they were doing to pay attention to Nicolas. "There's something over there. I want to check it out." he sprinted over to it, all the rest of party chased after him. They ran through dead pieces of trees and other plants. Soon the wasteland turned into a dead beach landscape. The lake was pitch black. Full of pollution. There were dead bodies of geese and ducks, still twitching from radiation. Poor animals. Imagine them, flying free... Thinking they could do things, but no. Humans do terrible things.
