One day, Sarah jumped out of the yellow school bus and ran to her ranch home excitedly. She just got an A+ on her report card. When she went inside the house, she found her mom crying on the sofa in the den.
"What's wrong?" Sarah asked.
"The landlord came and told us that if we don't have $20,000,000 by next year, then we'll lose the ranch, but I'm afraid that we don't have that much money here," her mom replied sadly.
She was right because when Sarah's family bought the ranch they were rich, but then they had to buy horses, cows, sheep, and chickens so, they became poor. Sarah ran to the big brown barn and sat down in her chestnut horse, Molly's stall. Her brown dog, Brownie went with her and put his head in her lap. Suddenly, Sarah heard a horse coming up the gravel driveway and a girl calling her name. It was her best friend, Chloe and her light brown horse, Clover. They both agreed to go on a trail ride this afternoon together. Sarah quickly tacked up Molly and led her horse outside.
As they rode their horses, Chloe noticed the sad look on Sarah's face and asked, "What's the matter?"
Sarah explained everything and asked, "What can I do?"
"I heard that there is going to be a horse show on Saturday and the winning prize is $20,000,000," Chloe suggested.
Sarah smiled, hugged her best friend and said, "Thank you."
On Saturday, Sarah and Molly won the horse show and got $20,000,000. She had won the horse show and saved the ranch.
