Why Him?

I can't stop thinking about that kid that saved my life. Levi Ackerman. Why did he even rescue me? I thought he would've wanted to see me fall to my death after I called him 'shorty'. No matter how many times I push away the image of Levi in my head, it pops back up again. It's actually pretty troublesome, I can't seem to focus on my homework. Come on, concentrate!

In my study hall, I begin writing again. We were given the assignment to list our strengths, weaknesses, and personality traits to determine what our designated club will be. I should put down something like courage or bravery. If there really is a Titan club, this will surely earn me a spot in it.

Personality traits:
Brave
•Willing
•Courageous
•Levi

Wait what? Let's try that again.

Personality traits:
Brave
•Willing
•Courageous
•Selfless
•Levi

Ugh, seriously? I angrily erase his name.

Personality traits:
Brave
•Willing
•Courageous
•Selfless
•Kind
•Levi

I plop my head on my desk and groan. This is bad, really bad. That Levi kid won't get out of my head. It wasn't that big of a deal, he only saved my life. Why can't I stop thinking about him?!

I hear footsteps approaching me, then a tap on my shoulder. I lift my head, covering Levi's name right after. Oh, it's Eren.

"Are you alright, Y/n?" He asks looking at me like I'm crazy.

I sigh and look away from him at the window, "I'm fine." I am not fine.

"No you're not," Eren sits at the desk in front of me, "what's wrong?"

I appreciate how concerned he is, but there's no way I could tell him what's bothering me, "It's just...I fought a Titan yesterday over my f/s."

Eren perks up, "Wow, really? Were you nearly killed?"

"Um...yeah. But, some...kid...um..."

Eren looks at me puzzled, "Some kid what?"

I mumble, "Saved me." I hoped Eren wouldn't hear that part. Hoped.

"Saved you? From what?"

"Falling."

"Who was it?"

My face gets oddly warm, "Um...Ackerman." I say his name quietly.

"Ackerman? Mikasa?"

"N-no. Not Mikasa."

Eren thinks a little bit, then his eyebrows rise, "Levi Ackerman!"

I wave my hands in front of him, "Shhh, don't say that so loudly!" I hiss.

"Sorry. I'd just never expect him to do that. He just seems like the kind of student that does things only for his benefit." He says with a finger to his lip in thought.

"I didn't really know him. I accidentally ran into him in the hallway and he snapped at me."

"Oh, that's not a very good impression."

"Whatever, it's not a big deal."

"I dunno, Y/n. He scares me. He is an upperclassman after all."

Upperclassman? Interesting...
