There was a fire. People screaming. I am sure nobody could ever get that out of their head. I mean, sheesh, I was an 8 year old little platinum haired, gold eyed girl. I can't remember what it was from. One day, I will find out. With that I blacked out and woke up in Kattegat.

People surrounded me. I panicked. A young-ish old man stood above me.

"Don't worry child," his voice was king and gentle, "You should be safe with Helga and Floki." He said pointing to a platinum blonde woman and bald man.

He helped me up. He was a father figure to me compared to the father I had whom beat me.

We walked out and I saw boys who looked about 10 and one who looked about 14. He had caught my eye. His sharp fine jawline, beautiful blue eyes.  Gorgeous, he was.

I smiled. He smiled back.

"Sir," I said to the man, "My name is Elsie."

He smiled. "Elsie, what a lovely name. Mine is Ragnar."

I blushed a light shade of pink.

Weeks went by. I learned more Viking ways. I had been practicing with swords and axes. I think I have actually been doing grand. The boy I was describing, I learned his name was Bjorn. We have been getting pretty close. He was my bestfriend.

One day we were outside. It was dark out. Bjorn and I always love to go outside and gaze upon the sea. But that one night was special.

I was looking at Bjorn trying to figure him out.

"You are a mystery, Bjorn. I can't ever figure you out." I said smiling.

"You are my princess," he responded, "Lively, kind, and a confusing painting. You are my masterpiece. But I can't read it."

I blushed. Those words will always stay with me.

"Can I tell you something?" I said before thinking.

"Of course. Anything." He said.

"I love you." I said softly, loud enough for him to hear though.

With me saying that, he leaned in. His lips touched mine. We kissed. "I love you too." He said pulling away.

That night I will always remember.
