11. Finding Out

Cassi smiled as she woke up to find Scorpius curled up in bed beside her like had happened a couple of times, she moved herself onto her side so that her little brother got a little more room and made him more comfy.  She sighed as she glanced to her clock, it was only 6.30am so it was too early for her to get up and start getting ready… She stayed on the bed beside Scorpius and watched as he continued to sleep “Such a little angel when you are asleep, pity you turn into a rascal when you’re awake” she whispered with a small laugh escaping her lips. It was obvious that she already loved the young boy, but she couldn’t help it, he was just so adorable. She was so excited for later on that day, she missed Sirius more than she could have ever imagined but she knew that she couldn’t have coped being at home, especially as her parents had been ignoring the letters that she had sent. Finally, it was 8am, and she began to climb out of bed and start getting ready, not only was she getting to see her twin again today but also getting to meet her other siblings, Rose and Hugo.

She climbed out the shower and quickly dressed in a pair of dark jeans and a green jumper, her blonde hair was its usual wavy self and she quickly applied some eyeliner and mascara before beginning to wake up Scorpius “Come on kiddo, wake up” she whispered as she stroked his hair softly though it wasn’t this that woke the boy up, it was a scream that had come from his mother’s lips. Cassi picked her brother up and ran through to Astoria and Draco’s room where the dark haired female was holding a stick and looking at Draco who was frozen with shock “Mummy, what up?” Scorpius asked through a yawn as he cuddled into his sister. Astoria and Draco looked around at the pair and smiled softly “Hey kids… Astoria is having a baby” he told them and Cassi smiled, she was going to have another brother or sister! Scorpius began to cry so Astoria took him off Cass and rocked him “What’s up with my boy?” she asked softly as Scorpius cried, saying that they would love the new baby more than him. Astoria and Draco assured him that they would love them equally which calmed him down and he went with Cassi to get dressed.

It was a couple of hours later that the door knocked and Draco went to answer it… “Cassi!” came a yell as she turned around and saw her twin brother, she grinned as she wrapped her arms around him tightly “I’ve missed you Sirius” she whispered before noticing how upset he looked “Sirius, what’s up?” she asked quietly as she looked over her twin. He shook his head and looked over as Hermione and Ron came in carrying Rose and Hugo, Rose was placed down and she walked over and cuddled into Sirius who hugged her “Siri okay?” she asked quietly and he nodded, kissing her head lightly “Yeah I’m okay Rose, why don’t you go play with Scorpius?” he suggested as the young boy hid behind his big sister who laughed softly. The two three-year-olds soon walked off to the living room and began to play together, Hermione gave Cassi a tight hug before whispering something to Ron who nodded and headed through to the living room with Hugo to keep an eye on the two kids. Hermione looked to Draco and sighed softly “Draco, is there anywhere the four of us can go, to talk privately…?” she asked softly as she looked around, wondering how she was going to tell Cassi.

Draco nodded and showed them through to his study where no one ever went now, he had used it more when he had just left Hogwarts and wanted to be alone. “Kids, sit down…” Mione said softly, her voice calm but it was obvious that something was distressing her. Sirius took Cassi’s hand and squeezed it softly; she was scared about what was happening… She could tell that Sirius already knew and she wanted to be told. Mione sighed as she whispered in Draco’s ear what had happened and he gasped in shock before nodding. The pair crouched down in front of the kids before Mione began to speak, her voice shaking. “Cassi, we have some really bad news to tell you… On Christmas Eve, Sirius returned home to find the Dark Mark over your house” she whispered, trying not to hurt either of her children more than she needed to. “He entered the house and found your mum and dad upstairs… They had been killed with the killing curse” Cassi just stared in shock, she couldn’t believe what she was hearing and Sirius wrapped his arms around her, trying to comfort her but she pushed him away “Why didn’t you tell me sooner?!” she suddenly screamed at them as she stood up to run out the room but Draco wrapped her arms around her tightly, holding her close as she began to sob into his chest “They… They can’t be” she whispered as the tears flooded out. Hermione walked over and wrapped her arms around Sirius, comforting her son while Draco comforted their daughter.

The four of them stayed like that for a while before they finally made their way back through to the living room, as soon as Scorpius saw that Cassi was upset he was running over to hug her tightly “Thanks kiddo” she whispered softly as she wrapped her arms around him, picked him up and walked over to Rose who was playing with a couple of toys “So you must be Rose…” Cassi said softly as she looked at the young red head who nodded with a smile on her lips “Hugo” she said as she pointed to her baby brother and grinned. Cassi smiled as she kept her arms around Scorpius as he seemed to keep her calm to an extent. The rest of the day went by slowly as they all got to know each other and then had dinner in the dining room. Petal had made them a large feast in the style of a buffet so that each person could just take what they wanted to eat. “Hermione, would it be okay if Sirius stayed here tonight? I can send both twins over by Floo Powder tomorrow” Draco suggested with a small smile on his lips which grew a little when the brunette agreed. He wanted to spend one more night with his daughter plus get to know his son a little more.

Cassi smiled as she walked over and wrapped her arms around Hermione, kissing her cheek softly “You’ve always been my mum” she whispered softly before walking over to Draco and hugging him tightly “You’ve always been my dad” she told him quietly before looking at them both “I love you both so much and I understand why you gave us up….. Mum” she smiled as she slipped her hand into Sirius’ and held Scorpius close to her, Rose was cuddled into Sirius’ leg as he held Hugo in his arm. Hermione and Draco smiled as they took a photo of all five children, knowing that they would now always be family. Once the photo was taken, Ron took Hugo back since he was asleep and sat back on the couch; he had been quiet all day. Sirius knew that the night to come was going to be strange as he had gotten used to sleeping at the Burrow with all his cousins about.
