It was obvious Roman and Logan didn't get along too well. Especially as Roman began to grow quickly, soon reaching the age of both Logan and Thomas while I was still at least a year above them. As Roman began getting bigger, Thomas' love for his Theatre Club and other things such as that grew as well.
But as Roman grew older, his own personality grew as well.
"Gimme!"
When Roman was around the physical age of four, his "princely" nature showed the most. He would do whatever he wanted and wouldn't care at all. And he'd always ask either me or Logan for something. Well, more demand than ask. His little outfit didn't help that much either.
"Gimme!" Roman pointed at the plate of brownies I had baked the other day. I was currently washing the dishes, Logan doing his own thing elsewhere.
"Say please, Roman," I replied. "Then I'll give you one."
"No!" Roman stomped, pointing at the plate more fiercely. "Pa-on, gimme!"
I sighed, shaking my head and going back to my work. Sadly, Roman didn't take kindly to me ignoring him. The room was suddenly filled with screams, stomping and viscous tugging at my pant leg. I finished my chore and left silently, leaving little Roman alone to his tantrum. Big mistake.
I jumped to attention when I heard a CRASH and a loud wail. Somehow, Logan got to Roman before I did. But he made no attempt to help him. Roman had somehow knocked the plate over and was sitting on the floor with cuts on his meaty little hands. He was shaking and bawling, red beads of his blood covering both palms.
"Oh Roman!" I cooed, quickly picking him up so he didn't cut himself any further.
"This is what happens when you decide to be a little spoiled brat and take what you want," Logan sighed, shaking his head as he fixed his glasses.
I sighed, quickly cleaning and wrapping up Roman's little hands while Logan cleaned up the broken plate and brownies. "You really think you're the little prince of this place, huh?" I teased the little guy as I set him back down.

Not only was Roman a demanding little prince, but he gave quite the chase. I was walking down the hallway from the TWR to get to the Commons room when I was suddenly met with a loud cry of pure terror.
"ROMAN LEAVE ME ALONE!"
"I SHALL SLAY YOU, MIGHTY BEAST! AND RID THIS PALACE FROM YOUR RULE!"
Logan came barreling into me, knocking us both other. Our moment collecting ourselves after the fall only lasted for.. well.. a moment before Logan scrambled back up and took off once more. Roman, in all his eight year old glory, came running past me waving a wooden sword.
"G-Guys? Guys?!" I called after them, completely lost. What was happening?
I pulled myself up just as Logan gave another yelp and Roman gave a cry of victory. I hurried into another hallway where Logan was laying on the ground on his back with Roman straddling his torso with his wooden sword on a position as if he was going to stab Logan through the skull with it. I couldn't help it. I almost collapsed in a fit of laughter.
"Patton this is not funny! Will you please get him off of me!"
"I've slayed the Nerd Beast! Patton, take a picture!" Roman strained his neck to flash me a grin.
"Do not take a picture!" Logan cried, trying to push Roman off of him. I could barely breathe.
Having two little kiddos in the house with me was pretty fun. It kept you on your toes. You never knew when you'd have to go running the moment a certain prince snaps his fingers. Or when you'd witness said prince slay a beast in the hallway with a wooden sword. It was amazing. As of now, my little family was complete.
