jihye entered the small apartment, the smell of kimchi stew was inviting her to the kitchen.

"i'm home." she announced to the man in a pink apron that was seemingly engrossed in cooking. seokjin turned around and gave her a smile, in which she replied with a tired one. he set down the boiling pot of stew on top of the dining table and ruffled her already messy hair.

"welcome home." he greeted her sweetly. "i'm sorry, dinner tonight is pretty simple." jihye shook her head.

"nah, i should be the one apologizing. it's my turn to cook tonight but the café got pretty crowded once you left." she explained.

"it's okay, you should rest." he said, putting down two sets of chopsticks and spoons. "now, let's eat!"

both of them started eat quietly. after awhile, seokjin decided to break the ice.

"do you still remember areum?" she silently hummed, disliking where the conversation was going. areum hated her. she had been taking every chance to make her suffer, which includes playing with seokjin's feelings but seokjin was (and still is) head over heels for her, so he doesn't care. a small interaction with areum alone made him happy, jihye didn't dare to break the whatever bond they had.

"she's coming back from france this friday." seokjin stopped for awhile, choosing his words carefully. "she failed her midterm exams and she had to continue her studies here." she hummed again, encouraging him to continue.

"and she would be needing a house to stay."

"so are you going to help her to find one?" seokjin licked his lips, moisturizing them.

"not exactly." jihye stopped her movement. "she's going to live here, jihye-ah."

"we don't have any spare rooms, oppa." she stated, trying to keep calm.

"that's why i thought, could you live with someone else."

"what?!" she rose her tone, dropping the spoon that she was holding. "you can't kick me from our house, seokjin!"

"jihye-ah, i know you hate her but she really need a place right now."

"hate is a strong word, oppa. i don't hate her, i dislike her a bit. if we were talking about hate, you should talk about all the hatred she's giving me." she stated. "and what about her family?"

"her family doesn't know." seokjin raised his gaze, meeting jihye's brown eyes. "jihye, please, understand her situation." they both stayed silent. seokjin released his breath that he didn't realized he was holding.

"You can take a break, go to your hometown. it has been awhile since you visited your family, right?"

"how about the café? you barely have enough time to manage it. your finals are nearing too, oppa."

"areum can help manage the café, i could teach you a thing or two." jihye scoffed in disbelief.

"are you seriously going to give out my position to areum?"

"look jihye, i'm giving you a chance to meet your family, why are you taking this negatively?"

"because my family doesn't know that i dropped out from college to open the damned café, oppa!" she cried out. "i don't want to disappoint them."

"areum is going through the same thing too, jihye. you would probably understand her more than i do!" hearing areum's name again made her blood boil.

"fine." she finally muttered after a long time of silence. "i'm going to leave if that's what you want."

she went to her room and started stuffing her stuffs into her luggage. "wait jihye, what are you doing?!" seokjin asked as he dashed into her room.

"granting your wish." she stated, her voice cracking. she stood up and head out to the door.

"there's still some of my stuffs inside, i will take it tomorrow." seokjin grabbed her wrists.

"it's dark outside, jihye. it's dangerous for a woman lurking around in this ungodly hour."

jihye chuckled, leaving seokjin confused.

"in all those year we became friends, this is the first time you actually cared." she breathed out. she shook her wrists off from seokjin's grip and fled the scene.

she found herself in front the café that she shared a lot of memories with seokjin.she sat down, hugging her knees and began crying.

she whipped out her phone, dialling yoongi's number. after a few rings, yoongi finally picked up.

"hello?"

"yoongi, can you pick me up at the café ?"

"jihye? have you been crying? what happened?"

"please, yoongi, i'll tell you later."

"i'm on my way."
