Claire's point of view
I could see Ryan coming towards me, and just seeing the radiant smile he has on his face made me want to cry. Not sad cry, or pity cry, but cry because I know he has been through hell, and he probably hadn't smiled much in the previous six months, so it made me beyond happy that he was smiling.
"Hey babe." He said after opening the sliding glass door.
"Hey" I said, as I smile uncontrollably
My mood switched immediately, and I needed to apologize for everything.
"I'm sorry Ryan."
"For what!"
"For everything." I say almost ashamed
"You do not need to apologize to me! I am so amazed that you are here with me again. Everything that has happened In the last six months doesn't matter anymore."
"I'm sorry for saying I'm sorry." I apologize again
"Stop saying sorry claire!" Ryan yells playfully
His mood changes so fast I was terrified because it was a little too drastic, and I knew that something bad was about to be said.
"Claire," Ryan says as he clears his throat "there is a little more to the accident than we told you at first. I'm only telling you this because there is going to be some people questioning you and you need to know sooner than later."
Oh god.
" The night you got in the accident, you left upset. I shouldn't have let you drive, but I did, and I have regretted it everyday since. While you were driving you pulled into a two way street so there was cars coming from both directions. While you were unfocused and upset you drifted into the other lane."
This isn't real, this isn't happening. It couldn't be.
"There were two people in the car that you hit. A wife, and her husband. I'm so sorry Claire; neither of them survived."
