After Prof. Juniper showed us the pokemart, we bought some some potions in case the need to heal arises, when we were all set, we left for route one again
"Maybe this time you'll find another pokemon" Bianca said trying to cheer me up
"Hey what's happening over there" Cheren asked moving to where the crowd was forming, we followed him, the crowd was caused by a man dressed weirdly, he wore a brown cloak which clashed with his odd green hair, he also had what seemed to be an eye path, behind him stood about eight people all dressed in medieval getup, at first i thought the circus was in town
"My name is Ghetsis, I'm representing team plasma, today ladies and gentlemen, i would like to talk to you about pokemon liberation, I'm sure most of you believe that people and pokemon are partners that have come to live with each other because we want and need each other, however, is that really the truth, pokemon are subject to the selfish demands of trainers"
As soon as he said that i felt uneasy, i remembered how i dreamed of being champion, no matter what, nothing was going to stop me
"Hey didn't you hear me"
"What?" i came to noticing that they have gone, the man, his medieval supporters and the crowd, all gone "where did everybody go"
"You didn't pay attention, and I thought I was absent minded" Bianca sneered
"He was saying something about liberating Pokemon " Cheren added
"Your Pokemon " came a voice, it was a boy, a teenager with a purrlion beside him, he had a black and white baseball cap on his long green hair, and I mean really long, he looked weirder than the Ghetsis character
"It was just saying...." he continued
"Wow, calm down you talk too fast" Cheren interrupted him "And what's that you said, Pokemon talking, that's an odd thing to say "
"So you too, that's sad, I am N"
"Wait, just N, you are odd, anyway I'm Hilbert, that's Cheren and that's Bianca "
"N, you said you can hear our Pokemon talking " Bianca asked
"Yes I hear Pokemon, they are living beings that you confine in Pokeballs"
"I guess you're a team plasma supporter " Cheren pointed out
"Yes, you can say that, but I'm also a trainer, I wonder if they are truly happy, well, allow me to hear your Pokemon talk again, through a battle"
"You're weird, anyway I'm going to be champion, so I can't turn away from a challenge " Cheren answered
"I'm sorry but I don't mean you, I meant him, Hilbert was it? "
"Me?, okay I accept, Cheren could you please officiate the match"
"Be careful Hill"
I stepped back a few meters, I don't know him or how strong his Pokemon is, so better not get caught up in the attacks, I nodded to Cheren
"So the match between Hilbert between N begins
"Purrlion aid me" he said sending purrlion forward
"I unleash Tepig "
"purrlion use scratch" purrlion ran straight at tepig claws out
"Dodge it quick and tackle" Tepig barely dodged it and attacked back but Purrlion was too fast dodging it and landing its scratch
"Lets go again" I yelled
"Why ask him to do the same move that didn't work, you truly are like every other trainer, selfish, just because you're not the ones taking damage"
Purrlion dodged it and Tepig crashed at the wall of the pokecenter
"Now purrlion, use assist"
Purrlion send a steam of bubbles at tepig significantly damaging him
"Come on Tepig, get up, please"
"I'm very disappointed, i wanted this battle so i could hear your Pokémon again but all i hear is you screaming"
I stood there helpless as Tepig tried to get up, this N guy, was he right?
Tepig looked at me angrily, was he still judging me, no, it was a different look, almost like he wanted to tell me something, i may not know want it was he was trying to say but i know he was not giving up and neither will i
"You are just standing there doing nothing, how pathetic "
"You think you know everything, well you don't, you don't know me or him, cause if you did you would know we never quit, right Tepig?"
Tepig responded by glowing, a bright orange aura surrounded it
"Tepig what's happening? "
"It's learning a new move" Cheren said
"New move, do it now" I screamed
Tepig took a deep breath and released flame from its nose hitting purrlion hard
"Was that ember?"
"Yea it is " Cheren answered
"Not bad, purrlion use growl and follow with scratch"
"Use ember again "
Tepig fired another shot before purrlion could move knocking it out
"I never expected a pokemon to say such things" he said as he picked up purrlion "But, as long as Pokemon are confined in Poke Balls, they will never become perfect beings. I have to change the world for Pokemon, because they're my friends" with that he left
"What a strange guy"
"Are you alright?" Bianca asked me
"Did you guys see how strong tepig was?"
"He's okay"
"We're going all the way to the top, right tepig?"
Tepig didn't reply instead he sat upright with a cocky look on his face, suddenly lilipup jumped out of my bag onto tepig licking him much to tepig annoyance
"It's like you have a fan, tepig" cheren pointed out
"You really admire him, don't you? You know if you travel with us you two can get to know each other and get stronger"
"Hilbert's a good trainer, you two could learn a lot from each other" Cheren said
Lilipup looked at tepig then at me and barked
I tossed a pokeball at him, the button pressed against his forehead, a red beam covered him then went back into the pokeball, it shook once, then twice and finally after the third shake it stopped, Lilipup was caught
"So where to now?" I asked withdrawing Tepig and placing both his and Lilipup's pokeballs into my bag
"Striation city, I heared there's a gym there"
