Ahhhh...Christmas/Winter Fluff...the one thing I am an absolute sucker for....

Anyway, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to anyone and everyone!! Hope you enjoy this and have a great time with your friends and family! My friend and I find the idea of the two of them going skating together absolutely adorable, so that's kind of where this idea stemmed from!

Also, I can't skate either Kurogane, you're not alone my child -_-'

Fai loved the winter.

It shouldn't have been surprising, since he had come from a country that was winter all year round. He never got tired of waking up to see snow drifting peacefully from the heavens, dropping their cool feather-like kisses on the ground below. And Christmas was one of the best parts of winter. A chance to be with family, friends, lovers, exchange gifts and shovel so much food down your throat that you thought you would never be able to eat again. When there was light and laughter in everyone's eyes and love swelling in everyone's hearts.

THAT was Christmas.

So it came as a saddening surprise when he realized that they didn't celebrate Christmas in Japan. And that Kurogane had never really experienced that joy for himself.

-

"What do you mean you've never celebrated Christmas?"

"I mean that I've NEVER CELEBRATED CHRISTMAS. Hell, I don't even know what that means!"

"Christmas is the happiest most fun and loving holiday out of them all! How could you not have Christmas?!"

Kurogane rolled his eyes and picked up the trunk he was supposed to be carrying.

"It's too busy around here for a holiday like that."

Kurogane didn't like the winter.

He was lucky it was very fleeting in his country.

It wasn't as if he disliked the cold, hell he was almost a constant heater so the coolness that came with winter wasn't so much of a problem. If it was a LITTLE cold that is.

Cold like the rain, like the breeze on a fall afternoon, like Fai's hands, those were the colds that he liked.

But when Mother Nature decided to bomb shell his entire country in a few feet of ice and snow, bringing temperatures down into the negatives, Kurogane was not happy. He had already slipped on ice and fallen more times than he could count in the past hour, whilst Fai seemed to just glide over the stuff like he was hovering.

Showoff.

He had never heard of Christmas before, most of the celebrations they had in Japan took place in the spring or summer, so they could be outside. Was Christmas supposed to be celebrated outside? He guessed not, since the cold would definitely not be the most welcoming or homey thing on the planet, at least not for him. But if it was inside-which made way most sense-, where it was significantly warmer, then how bad could it really be?

The lake had frozen over.

Which for two people meant very different things.

Fai was ecstatic, frozen lake meant skating. It meant warm drinks and clasped hands while gliding over the smooth surface and listening to the soft snow fall. Fai LOVED ice skating, so as soon as the knowledge about the lake had reached his ears he went to Tomoyo to ask if they had any ice skates.
