Chapter 1

Sam's Pov
I sat in the Curtis house waiting for Ponyboy to come back. I had no idea where he had gone and Sodapop and Derry where talking in the kitchen. I had known better then to talk to them when they where talking. All of a sudden I here Ponys voice from the ally.
"Darry!" I heard him yell.
"Darry!" I said standing up.
"What?" He asked as he turned around.
"Did you hear that?"
"Heat what" he asked as he listen carefully.
"Darry!" Ponyboy yelled again.
Then all 3 of us jumped up and ran out the door. By the time we got out there Two-bit, Dally, Johnny, And Steve where out there. Soda rushed passed johnny and chased the Socs away from Ponyboy. The Socs jumped into their car and tried to drive off, with Steve pulling a Soc half way out the window and Two-bit trying to beat up a Soc in the back. Dally ran back and picked up a huge stick and ran after them, then he tried to throw it at the car.
Darry and I ran over to Ponyboy.
"Pony are you alright?" Darry asked.
Pony was almost in tears as Sodapop came running towards him.
"Did they put a blade in you Pony?" Soda asked.
"Ya," Pony said as he tried to wipe some of the tears.
Darry and I were helping Pony up on the sides as Soda helped him up in the back.
"What where you doing walking by yourself," Darry asked.
"Alls I did is walk home from the movies." Pony replied.
"Movies and books movies and books!" Darry said rolling his eyes. "I-I-I Irish you could concentrate on something else."
"Ya like girls and cars," Sodapop said stepping up. "Works for me." He said with a smile.
Darry just rolled his eyes. "If you knew that you had to walk by yourself you should've at least carried a blade."
"Oh ya!" Soda said sarcastically. "That would have given the Socs an even better reason to cut his throat a little more there!"
Zoning back to reality I realized tat Ponyboy had a cut on his neck.
"If I wanted my kid brother to give me advice how to raise my other kid brother I'll ask him," Darry said looking a little angry. "Kid brother," with that he walked out and right into the house.
