A Letter to God

Dear God,

I'm not sure what to say

You told me to so I held on

Just a step more and I would have

let go.

Alone

I never tried to hide

Invisible to the crowd around me

Only You see.

I call You friend

Brother, Saviour

You could never mean less

So keep me in Your hands.

Dear God,

Family is a word so much more than itself

You gave me into the arms

of Dad and Mum

and put love in my brothers' hearts

Now knit us closer

In a net never to be broken

Ever.

Friends,

Hate-love relationships

Funny how they keep me going

Bless them all, Bless them true

In Your name, May they be blessed.

Dear God,

Can You see me grow?

Like the wildflower I love so much

I put down deeper roots

Cast my scent into the fields

Will You, like the wind

Carry it into the world

To bring smiles

In spite of darkness

Bring joy in spite of suffering

In Your faith, will I grow.

Hold me close

Never let me go

Into the year and the next

and the many to come.

Amen.
