Gray's POV

I turn back around to start walking to the house and see if I can contact Lucy. As I keep walking thought keep running threw my mind on how I could have helped her.
Maybe I could have somehow made the others understand and realize what they were doing to her. It makes me sick on how they treaded Lucy, abusing her and her kindness, ignoring her, forgetting all about how she is the soul light of the guild.

* flashback*

"Hey Gray!" I turned to the side to see the rest of Team Natsu standing there looking at me. Lucy starts waving at me and motions me to come towards them. I sigh and shake my head and make my way to them.
I shove my hands into my front pockets on my way towards them and I see Lucy tilt her head and give me a look of confusion.
'Maybe she noticed' was the one thought that came to mind.

"Yah. What do you guys want?" I didn't realize the tone of my voice was a bit rude.
Natsu quickly walked closer to me and put his face in mine.
"What's up with you! You don't need to be so rude! Come on we're gonna go pick a job request!" The fact that Natsu has to be so dense is so annoying.
I'm obviously not in the mood to be bothered. I shove his face away, "Fine, just remember personal space flamebrain."
I walk away from Natsu and towards the others. As soon as I reach them they greet me.
"Hey, Gray," said Erza, "Hello Gray," said both Happy and Lucy. I could tell that Happy and Lucy were excited to go on this mission, solely because of their face expressions. "Hey, guys can you give me and Gray a moment," said Lucy. Erza and Happy looked at each other and nodded,
"Sure. Just meet up with us before the train leaves."
With that Erza quickly grabbed Natsu, Happy started flying, and they walked off.

As soon as they were out of sight Lucy started talking.
"Is something wrong Gray? You seem upset," was what she said to me. I faced her and tried to reassure her that I was fine, "Nope. I'm okay."
She gave me an unsure look, some what of a look like she could tell I was lying. " Don't lie to me Gray, I just want to be sure that you okay." I could tell she wasn't gonna let me slide.
She seemed so sure and sincere that I could tell her. "Fine. You know how when we took that S class mission, and I told you about my old master, Ul."
(Is that how it's spelled? Idk, I haven't watched fairy tail in so long)

Lucy's face kind of turned into a sad look. "I remember," she said in a soft voice I almost couldn't hear it. "Well, today is her birthday. And I guess that I'm just not feeling, okay."

Lucy moved her hand on to my shoulder to try and comfort me. Her brows were pushed together. Her face, body expression, her eyes, they were just telling me she was trying to sympathies with me. "I'm sorry Gray, if you want I can try and get the others to see if we can take a mission tomorrow." Shaking my head in protest not wanting to make the others mad or confused as to why we should go tomorrow I said, "No. No, that's fine, I'm sure I'll be fine." She let go of my arm and stepped back once and said,
"I won't take no as an answer we are going to stay here till tomorrow, I'll make sure of it. Then you and me will hang out, have fun, and get threw today together."
And that's exactly what we did.

*end of flashback*

Lucy was everything sweet, nice, and beautiful in the guild. In our lives. How could they not see that we need her. She would always be there if we needed that. They took her for granted, it makes me sick.
