(ITS THE LITERAL NIGHT BEFORE FREAKING CHRISTMAS)
"But Yuuuuurrrriiiiiii..."
"Please Victor.... This really is something I'd like to-"
"Yuuri, it's Christmas! It's a time of fresh start, like the freshly fallen snow on a crisp winter morning. It's a time for risk, like how the clouds risk spreading their little snowflakes to the ground, hoping they land safely and have a chance to not melt. Be those snowflakes Yuuri."
"I just don't see the point. We already have so many decorations...why do we need a mistletoe...?"
Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the inn, all the inhabitants were stirring, even Makkachin. Decorations were hung on the walls and chairs, in the hopes that the customers would be cozy there. The small tree was up in a far off corner, where Yuuri's mother was becoming a scorner; chasing them all from the hung up candy canes muttering about how the dog was better trained. The house was full of good food and good cheer, with the smell of pork cutlet always bringing the boys near. With lights, music, tree, and stockings in store, the young raven asks, "Why do we need any more?"
But his snowy haired mentor- Victor is his name-, has other plans to throw Yuuri off his game. A mistletoe to be hung is his demand, to help him along in his master plan. Three triplets to the side, enjoying the plight, will watch their views rise all through the night. The others in the kitchen, getting the rest prepared, were none the wiser of the words being shared. Crystal blue eyes stare, fulling of begging and wonder, leaving Yuuri's heart to beat like thunder. Not being able to resist the big guy, he eventually gives in, and lets out a sigh.
"Okay...I guess...I guess it will be okay."
"Of course it will! A little extra Christmas spirit never hurt anyone Yuuri." With a smile in place, he took hold of a chair, and took great pride in hanging the plant in the air. Yuuri watches, knowing pain is not his worry, but simply making sure to get through that door in a hurry. "Well now that that's settled, c'mon let's go eat! I can smell the cookies from here!"
With bounding leaps he follows the smells, leaving the student in his place to dwell. Even in uncertainty a smile lies on his face, taking in the joy filling the whole place. Christmas always filled him with cheer, and it seems that it's even stronger this year. With Victor dancing round, ready to decorate, any normal worries simply seem to dissipate. Skating forgotten for a small Christmas break, the biggest concern became 'Should the tree be fake'? Even Makkachin seems to be joining in the fun, getting tangled in tinsel then having a good run. Warmth fills the whole place, and it all became a race. Whoever could get the most lights to work would win, as they're being a pain, as they've always been. Christmas specials get put on replay, the same classics playing day after day. Yet despite all the pain and mess and noise, it's proves to them all that Christmas isn't just about toys. Even the little girls know when they arrive, with that excited glint in their eyes, that the family is what matters, as said in every home; they even take time to put down the phone.
Shuffling past those girls who are chasing down Makkachin, Yuuri takes a final glance at them before moving to the kitchen. Trying to put reindeer antlers on the curly haired dog, they squeal of getting pictures for their blog. With a shake of his head, he goes through the door, to find Victor on his knees on the floor.
"Please Mrs. Katsuki. Please, please, please, please, please, pleeeeeease?"
"Victor, darling, just because you're a celebrity, does not mean that you will get any special treatment in my home." Yuuri's mother stands still with her arms crossed, being sure Victor was properly bossed.
