Closing her eyes, Calvin let the water run over her feet and soak her shorts. The waves were calm, relaxing, it was enough to steady her heart beat to where it should be.
Seeing that the sun had gone down long ago, she was happy to watch the beach die down and the people go home for the night. That left her with a little privacy, and a less chance of being spotted by anyone working for Simmons. The fucker had men all over this town, as of now they were probably all looking out for her.
It was useless though. If Calvin didn't want to be seen, she wouldn't have been and Simmons knew that.
That's what the biggest challenge was In this situation- he knew what she could do.
"Cal..." Jake's footsteps were heard a long time ago, but she knew it was him- that's why she didn't flinch.
Turning her head to look behind her, she sighed seeing his legs. "Yeah?"
"The guys are going to be calling soon. We don't answer you know they'll-"
"Lose their shit." She chuckled. "Yeah." Then, rising to her feet, she turned seeing Jake staring at her. He had concern in his eyes, and Calvin knew he had every right to. These emotions she had been feeling the past few days, she didn't understand them herself.
It only made sense that since she knew this was supposed to be the end of the line for her, thid was when she would start thinking about the beginning. Her, Walker, Kick, Sanchez, Haze, her Mom, her Dad, Scotty. Everything that she had been through, it was like her life was flashing before her eyes day by day.
Calvin wasn't a spiritual person, but it's the only logical thing she could think of.
In the end though, Calvin wasn't scared. How could she be?
Wherever she was going, she was sure her boys were waiting for her.
Together, Jake and Calvin left the beach and entered the hotel. It wss a silent ride up, neither really had anything to say. Jake still had a few minutes before the team that Sanchez's cousin sent them was uploaded. So, it was honestly just a waiting game now.
That, and he was working his way Into the security footage system around the man's compound.
It was going to be a successful night for Jake- as long as nothing fell through.
Jake had taken it upon himself to clean the room from her little episode, and she was greatful for it. The guy was her pillar this entire trip.
Almost as if on cue, the laptop began to go off on the table ahead of them . Jake answered it, and Calvin went to the kitchen behind him to look at the weapons she had laid out.
"Hey guys." Jake greeted.
"Hey Jen, How's it going?" Of course, clay was the one to take charge of the video call. Everyone however, was in the background hoping to see the two.
Looking back towards cal, he nodded. "Good so far. How about things back there?"
The line went dead for a second. Calvin didn't like the silence from where she was standing, so curiously she put down the hand gun and walked to the back of the couch. There, she swung her legs over and looked into the camera. "What's wrong Clay?"
The leader just stayed where he was, then slowly turned his head to look at cougar. The man looked like he hasn't slept in days. "The baby is coming."
Both Jake and Cal looked at one another. "What!?"
"It is due any day."
"Jesus christ." She pulled her phone out of her pocket.
