The game
Time past by fast and before Ava knew it was already Saturday. It was the day of the game.
Even though she couldn't stand the kids father, he was a great speaker. Just like his son. If billy wanted something he would use his words and get it. But not with Ava. She had heard of the power billy had from the other teachers and thus prepared herself, but she wasn't prepared for the father to blow her away with his words. So she said yes. Not that she didn't want to go, but she wouldn't have mind if she had a Saturday for herself.
It rained outside very hard, Ava wondered if the game would go on, but since she didn't have the number of Billy's dad she would have to go to find out.
When she arrived the rain had stoped, but no signs of any game. She decided to go and see it for herself when she slipped, but during her fall something caught her. It felt like a warm human touch. When she opened her eyes which she had shut during the fall she saw the amazing silhouette of a man she thought she recognized. When she got up she saw it more clearly. It was the principal of whom she still didn't know the name. 'You're alright?' He said. 'Uh yeah sure, I'm still alive.' He laughed. 'Well you think, you'll never be sure.' 'Well you talk to me.' 'so?' he said. 'Well I suppose that humans don't see ghosts.' Well this could be your after-life.' He said. She started laughing. 'You really have always an answer don't you?' He laughed 'yeah I guess so.' 'So... what are you doing here? It's not like there are any games or something.' 'no, I know, but I wasn't entirely sure.' 'Okay so what are you going to do now?' He said with some sort of desire in his eyes. Ava's heart started to beat faster. 'Uhm I don't know.' He smiled, it made her blush. He made her feel like she had been exercising. 'I have an idea.' he said. Her heart was now half way trough her chest, it was almost like he could see it. He walked to her. So close she could feel him breath in her neck. He whispered in her ear ' lets go to a bar.' That was not what she had been expecting. She felt a bit of relieve, but at the same time also a bit of pity. 'Yeah sure I'd like that, but first I have to do something. I'll be right back.' He nodded and said 'okay.'
When Ava came back they went to the bar as promised, but Ava didn't look so happy. The principal noticed it. 'What's wrong?' She looked at him as if he had killed her cat. 'Nothing really, you shouldn't worry about it.' 'Well I should.' He said. 'I don't like seeing you so sad.' Ava tried to smile at him and said 'Well you.. It's you she said.' The principal was shocked. 'Me?' He said. She nodded. 'What did I do wrong to make you so upset?' Ava hesitated for a while. 'Well we're drinking together, we're practically friends right? And you haven't told me your name. You know mine but I don't know yours. Is it because I'm a secret or you have a wife and kids or is it both?' 'Marco.' he said with a smile on his face. 'What?' Ava said. 'My name is Marco Paulo Tretini. I don't tell it because my staff should call me sir or principal, but I'll make an exception for you.' Ava looked at him and tried to smile. 'Was that all or were you trying to change the subject?' 'No!' she said. 'I mean yes, no I mean no... Oh I just don't really know I guess.' 'What is it?' He said. ' Well I was supposed to meet up with this guy at the soccer field, but he didn't show. You did, and well.' 'You were wondering if he did show up later?' 'Yeah.' Ava said. 'Well there's only one way to find out, well maybe more but for now. Call him.' 'well you see that's the problem I don't have his number.' 'Oh well than we'll just have fun for now, or was this one of those serendipity things?' 'Serendipity? Maybe, but I think I'll find him. It isn't that hard.' she said. 'okay than. Let's have fun.'
