Beep, Beep, Beep. I slammed my hand on the snooze button. Why does the alarm always have to wake you up when you're at the best part of your dream? I tried to fall asleep and get back into the world of dreamland. Of course, like always it didn't work. I groaned and forced myself out of bed. Immediately the cold air enveloped my body. I shivered and jumped into bed. After a few seconds warming my body, I cautiously got out of bed.

I ran to my wardrobe and picked out a pair of jeans and a slightly oversized sweater. If you're going to school you might as well be comfortable. Anyway, it's not like I have a reputation to uphold. Most of the people in school think I am crazy. Even the teachers are wary of me. Sometimes I even start to believe them. When I was in second grade I made the mistake of asking if anyone else heard voices in my head. I was really excited back then. They had spoken to me a week earlier and I couldn't keep my little secret inside of me. The voices at the time were like my personal diary. I would tell them things and they would respond. They would whisper in my ear, whether it was to cheer me up or laugh beside me or give no me advice. You could say they are more than a diary. They are more like my best friends. Looking back they were my imaginary friends, but I took it to the next level. This cost me my reputation. Maybe I should have kept quiet.

Finished dressing, I yelled goodbye to my mom and dad and walked out the door. I breathed in the cool brisk air and started walking.

---

The large, black, rusty gate loomed before me. Mustering all my groggy self's strength and pushed open the gate. "This is officially the entrance to hell," I muttered under my breath.

Students were already mingling with other people. If my life at this school wasn't a living hell than I probably would enjoy the campus, but due to my circumstances, nothing is really enjoyable. Except for my one and only friend in this entire world, Mira.

Speaking of the devil, I saw Mira running towards me. She pulled me into an embrace. "Blaaaaake, I missed you so much" Mira exclaimed. Her long platinum blonde hair swished behind her.

"You saw me yesterday," I said in an exasperated tone.

"Yeah, well I missed you. Can't you be happy to see me for once," She smiled and lightly slapped me on the shoulder.

"Yay, I'm so happy to see you. I haven't seen you at all for days," I said in a sarcastic tone.

"Yeah right," Mira rolled her eyes at me.

"You know you love me," I said

"I do, but that doesn't make you any less annoying," Mira said with a huge grin on her face.

"Hey," I exclaim a smile slowly spreading across my face. Mira never fails to make me smile. She is also the only one who talked to me after I let the cat out of the bag.

I walked to my first period with Mira. "Hey did you hear about the new transfer student," Mira exclaimed.

"No," I replied in confusion. It was really rare when a person transferred at the beginning of the year let alone the middle of the year.

"I wonder if he is hot," Mira squealed.

"Are boys all you think about," I said

"Well, since he doesn't know that........incident, you may finally have a chance at getting into a relationship."

"I don't want to be in a relationship and none of the guys are that good-looking," I state.

"You are too picky for your own good. At this rate, you will never marry and die alone and be the crazy cat lady that no one likes being around." She huffed.
