I walked out the door to find the one and only Dylan Paine in front of the door rubbing his head with his hand. "Ow," He said.
"I guess now's the time I should ask if your ok and apologize?" I asked.
"Yes, it would be" He replied. "Anyway, I wanted to ask you something."
"So you follow me to the bathroom and waited right in front of the door. Just saying, but that is really creepy."
"Ignoring that you called me creepy, can I ask you something?"
"You already did," I started walking towards the cafeteria.
"Well, I think Mira is really pretty and I would like to ask you if you could introduce her to me and maybe, eventually....," he trailed off.
I stopped. "You want me too set you up with my best friend,"
"Basically," He said with a hopeful lopsided grin.
"No," I said sternly and started walking again.
"Oh come on, at least think about it." He said running after me.
"I'm not setting up my best friend with someone I barely know. For all I know you could be a creepy perverted stalker that is up to no good, and for that reason, I will not introduce you to Mira. Good day." With that, I stalked off.
I decided that since my encounter with Dylan made my journey to the bathroom take longer than expected, I should skip going back to the cafeteria and go straight to my locker. The halls were pretty empty because everybody was still eating lunch, but those few stragglers who decided not to eat or left early gave me disgusted looks. In return, I gave them my signature death glare. I smiled to myself when they looked away. My signature death glare has proven itself useful.
---
I arrived at my next class. I was the first one there. I sat down in the back, window seat and waited patiently for the other people to arrive. I was zoning out when I heard a crash. I looked up to see Dylan wincing in pain. He looked up and gave me a dopey grin.
"What?" he said. "I wasn't looking where I was going." I shrugged and went back to what I was doing. Again, I was disrupted, but this time it was Dylan taking a seat next to me. I looked over and gave him a weird look. He shrugged and smiled.
"So, have you thought about my offer yet," Dylan asked.
"I already told you no, and the answer won't just magically turn into a yes."
" C'mon, please. He begged.
I looked over and he quickly gave me the puppy face. I had to admit he did look cute.
Snap out of it. He is trying to get with your best friend.
I shook my head. "Puppy face does not work on me."
His cute puppy face turned into a smirk. "I could introduce you to some friends. It wouldn't do your social life any harm."
I gaped at him. Did he seriously think that he could buy my help? I smirked back.
"And why would I want to befriend those swine," I replied. His mouth dropped. I smirked at his reaction. I was having way to much fun with this.
Wait, what. Did I just seriously think that.
He didn't have the time to reply because at that moment the teacher walked in. I hadn't even noticed all the other students gathering into the classroom. I looked around. Other than mingling, I saw people shoot us curious glances.
"Ok class, today we are learning about Black Tuesday and the start of the Great Depression." The teacher started his monotone lesson. After his first sentence, I started to zone out. I was happily deep in my thoughts when I was disrupted. A felt an object poking into my side. I looked up to see Dylan mouthing, please. I rolled my eyes and shook my head. A few minutes later I felt something bump into the side of my head. I saw it float onto my desk. A paper airplane, seriously.
I felt Dylan's eyes on me as I inspected the carefully folded paper. Deciding that it wouldn't do me any harm, I unfolded the piece of paper. The word please was written in big, capital letters. On the side was a stick figure begging.
In big, capital letters I wrote down my response: NO! Beneath those letters I scribbled down a few extra words: You can do better than that. I refolded the paper and aim at his head. He picked up the folded paper and gave me a quick glare before opening the paper. He eyed the scrawled down words.
We continued to pass notes like the ones before throughout class. Of course, my answer was still "no." The bell rang and I basically ran out of the classroom. Now only one more period till the day is over. I stopped in my tracks when i realized what my last and final period is. Gym.
---
Gym: the epitome of a game called let's trip, hit, and hurt, Blake. Yay me! I stared at the gym door, hoping it would go away. When it didn't do what I telepathically told it to do, I glared at the door. I heard a voice behind me.
"What did the door ever do to you."
I turned around to see Dylan standing behind me.
"It existed," I replied.
Dylan rolled his eyes. "C'mon, Gym can't be that bad."
"For you maybe not." Holding my breath, I pushed open the door. I made my way to the girl's locker room. The gym was set up like this. There was the main gym where we played sports and trained, and then there were two doors next to each other leading into the girl's and boy's locker room.
I opened the door and saw a bunch of girls gossiping and changing. When I entered I saw their noses turn up with disgust.
Conceited witches, I thought to myself. I went to my locker, grabbed my stuff and changed into my gym clothes. They consisted of sweat pants and a t-shirt. While I was changing I couldn't help but overhear the other girl's gossipping session.
"Did you hear about the new guy,"
"Tots, I saw him at lunch and he is tots hot."
"I know right."
"I heard that he hung out with that crazy beach."
"Seriously, doesn't he know that that she is basically a witch. I heard she talks to spirits and participates in voodoo."
"OMG."
At this point, I stopped listening to their ridiculous conversation. I finished changing and walked towards the door to the gym. I was reaching for the door handle when I heard a snarky voice behind me.
"Oh look, there she is. The infamous witch," One of the girls said. Her voice was high-pitched and sounded like a stereotypical mean girl. I couldn't help but laugh on the inside. I continued to ignore her.
"Hey, I'm talking to you," One of the girls said.
"Yeah, she is talking to you, Girl two said.
"Don't ignore her," Girl three said.
I turned to face them.
"Oh sorry, I didn't catch your name," I put on my goody two shoes smile. They looked shocked for a moment. I mean how dare anyone not know there name. I continued my smile while they collected themselves.
"I'm Brittany," Girl one said.
"I'm Brianna," Girl two said.
"And I'm Beka," Girl three said.
"And we're the most popular girls in school, so you better respect us," They all chorused together,"
"And?"
