Story #4 The Music Box

"Thank you! Thank you mommy!" shouted Lilly as she took out a black and red box out of the Christmas wrapping. Mrs. Brown stood there and smiled as her daughter give her a big hug. "Take good care of it Lilly" she said. Nathan, Mrs. Brown boyfriend watched them hugging and talking to each other. He doesnt like Lilly very well because sometimes Lilly ignores him and doesnt go near to him.

One night as he and Mrs. Brown was sleeping, he heard soft but loud music coming from Lilly's room. Every night she plays her music box that her mom give her for Christmas in her room and interrupts Nathan's sleep. This time he got up from bed and walk into her room. "Can you please not play the music box in the night" he said. Lilly just watched him and continues whinning up the toy. "Lilly!". "Just leave me alone, you are not my dad!" shouted Lilly. After hearing those words, Nathan suddenly took her box and went out through the backdoor. Lilly ran after him, screaming at him. Then she saw him throw the box inside the garbage. Lilly did nothing but cried. Nathan looked at her and walk inside the house. As he lay beside her mom who happens to be still asleep, he saw Lilly walk inside her bedroom. Nathan was so surprised because she does always tattletale on him to her mom.

In the middle of the night, Nathan was awoken again because he heard someone singing across the hall. He got up from his bed and went inside Lilly's room which he caught her singing the same tune from the music box. "Lilly, you are a very annoying girl, please go to sleep" he told her. Lilly just stood there watching him and sang according to the tune of the music box 🎵"wind is blowing, the moon is bright, your death is coming close tonight"🎶. Nathan stared at her with a look on his face, realizing that not only he's dating an annoying 6 year old girl's mom but a crazy one as well.

Nathan left Lilly's room and grab his bag, filling it with extra clothing. Mrs. Brown woke up and looked at him putting on a jacket and shoes. "Where are you going?" she asked. "I'm going to stay at my mom's house for the night" he said grabbing his bag. "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine". "Okay, goodnight" reply Mrs. Brown as she kissed his cheeks then drift to sleep. As Nathan close the bedroom door, he peeked inside Lilly's room and saw her staring at him singing the same lyrics and tune of the music box.
Nathan close her door, sighs and shaked his head and walked out through the backdoor.

As he drove through the streets, he was thinking about the tune of Lilly's music box. It even keeps replaying back over and over again in his head. It was so annoying that it's making Nathan so sleepy. He was trying to stay up but his eyes were closing on him. After a few seconds of trying to stay awake he was sounded asleep. After forgetting that he was still driving, he woke up instead on the road but on a bushy cliff. Nathan tried getting the car out of control then suddenly the words that Lilly told him came into his mind 🎵"wind is blowing, the moon is bright, your death is coming close tonight"🎶. While that was in his head, He ended up off the cliff, going 10 feet deep under and crashed into a big boulder.

A few years later, 15 year old Lilly visited his gravesite. She took out a music box that he had throw away and placed it on his grave. Then she took a paper, placed it under the box and walk away. As the wind blew, the paper tilted a little which reads " The wind is blowing, the sun is shining where you lied, your death is right there,on your side".

🌟I hope you enjoy reading this story. Just a quick note, this story took a few hours to put together. Again I passed the word limit but i will do better next time.
