Chapter 2: Your Training Begins

The Next Morning

The morning sun rose above the edge of the wall, and the training camp now had light shine upon it. In the forest, right next to the camp, the light shined through the trees, and hit Annie's face. She felt the warmth of the sun hit her, and began to stir around, and slowly wake up. She also felt the warmth of something else around her. When she sat up, her sight was slightly blurry, and after a few seconds, it adjusted back to normal. She looked to see that she was wrapped in another person's jacket. She then remembered the events of last night, and looked around to see you were not there.

Annie's Thoughts: Where did he go?..

She stood up and held onto your jacket. Walking back on the path, the view of the camp came into sight, but her nose also picked up something.

*sniff* *sniff*

Annie's Thoughts: Someone's cooking?

Once she broke through the edge of the forest, she saw you were next to a fire, without your jacket, cooking up a meal, and to her surprise, there was two small cuts of meat. You noticed she came back, and put down the cooking utensils.

Y/N: Morning, I thought I'd let you sleep in, and cook up breakfast before we start today. We're up an hour early, so no one else is up.

Annie: You were able to get meat, but how?

Y/N: When you're the nephew of drill instructor Shadis, you can get whatever you want. Come on, let's eat.

She walked over next to you and sat down on the log that was there. You plated her food that consisted of a small cut of meat, with some greens, mash, and eggs. You gave her the food, and handed her a cup of coffee as well. You grabbed your own food and drink, and sat next to Annie. You were eating a little faster than normal pace, while Annie ate at a slow pace.

Y/N: Did you sleep well last night?

Annie: *nods* I'm sorry for falling asleep.

Y/N: It's alright, you're rather cute when you sleep.

She blushed and hid away. You saw this and chuckled at her reaction. After you both were done eating, you packed everything up, and put the fire out. She was about to take off your jacket, until you held up your hand.

Y/N: Don't, you look good in it.

Annie blushed, but tightened the jacket around her, feeling the warmth around her. You both walked back to camp, and stood in front of the girls barracks.

Annie: Well, this is my stop.

Y/N: Thank you for last night, it was wonderful.

Annie: N-No, thank you Y/N.

Y/N: Alright, well, I'm gonna try and buy you another hour of sleep. See ya, Annie.

Annie: Bye, Y/N.

You began to walk away, but stopped and turned around.

Y/N: By the way, you better ready yourself.

Annie: For what?

Y/N: *smirk* You're first day of training starts today.

With that, you walked away, leaving Annie outside her barracks. She quietly opened the door, and peeked inside to see everyone was still asleep. She walked over to her bunk, which was just o top of Mikasa's, and laid down with your jacket. She examined every inch of it. Every detail, seam, everything. She snuggled herself deeper inside of it, and covered the lower half of her face with the inside of the jacket. It felt as if she were still wrapped in your arms, and she could tell your scent apart from the entire camp, because it was the only thing that smelled decent. She sprawled out on her bunk, and stared at the ceiling. She began to imagine you laying next to her. The way you would look if you had your arms around her, and how close the two of you would be. She imagined that the distance between your faces was closing, and your lips were drawing closer, and closer, until.............
