Extended summary + Author's Note:
"Evie." He breathed out; a low-pitched gravelly sound that seemed primal in every sense. She loathed how her name sounded emerging from between his lips, each syllable dripping with disgust and resentment.
Her sprinting pace came to a halt, her foot colliding harshly with the stony concrete beneath her, "what did you just call me?"
"I know. I know exactly who...what you are."
"I don't know what you're talking about." She replied, avoiding having to meet his accusing gaze. She was well aware of how weak her attempt at denial sounded but she was beyond caring; she was frightened.
He chucked but the sound barely carried any hint of amusement, "Don't. Don't try and bullshit me, Evie, not now. Everyone else might fall for the sweet angel act, but not me. I knew who you were the moment I clapped eyes on you."
She allowed her gaze to avert until they met with his stony green laser-like orbs. "How did you know?"
Evie Littlewoods is a threat to society.
At least that's how the media seems to portray the 'missing' girl.
Five years ago, Evie had a huge role to play in the murders of several people, including her own father. Now aged seventeen and returning to her home in England, she vows to keep the truth under wraps and not allow her past to catch up with her, again.
But the witty and charismatic future lawyer Rhys Millers seems to have other plans. He quickly pieces together the puzzle of events leading to Evie's frightful actions that night and amidst it all, discovers his own connections to Evie's past.
Will Rhys and Evie ever be able to move on from the truth of their intertwined twisted pasts? Or will Rhys decide that Evie deserves to be put behind bars for good?
Author's Note:
So, this is my...several attempt at a story here on Wattpad. For some reason, I always begin to write a story here but never get past like chapter 15, my motivation just seems to waver as the story progresses.
But, I'm going to try my utmost best to complete this story, and in order to do that, I've decided I'm going to write shorter chapters so it doesn't take as much time.
Just a heads up, this story does contain some rather dark themes and I can promise a very twisty ride as my favourite is when the story just keeps you guessing.
I'm going to class this as a 'short story' but I think it heavily falls into the 'romance' and 'mystery' genre too.
I will have a separate book for the sex scenes in this book (there will be a couple for all my smut lovers out there ;) ).
& Just a quick thanks to the amazing artist @xlovEtolivEx for the absolutely stunning cover 😍
So, I hope at least one person's reading this and will enjoy this journey with me!
