Zarah Ilaskia is lost. No, she's not lost in the woods or in the mall, she is lost in her mind. With no love left in the eyes of her family or her Pack, she forces herself to leave, escaping to the Sharling Forests in the East. There she finds a family and a Pack, along with a chance to start over and gain the respect she has longed for.
But will the world she left behind let her leave so easily?
Please enjoy, I, Omega.

I woke up with a start. I sat up straight, my body was covered in sweat and I was panting. But, again I couldn't remember what dream caused this. Every morning, for the last week, I've been waking up this way. I try not to sleep now, it's so bad that the pack is beginning to notice. I have bags under my eyes and my hair and clothes are always messy.

I pulled my sore and tired body out of bed, knowing that I wasn't going to be getting any more sleep. I grabbed a shirt and basketball shorts from my walk-in closet and quickly threw them on, not bothering to take a shower. I walked to the bathroom and quickly brushed my teeth and ran a hand through my hair. A knock at my door dragged me from the bathroom.

"Come in," I muttered, half asleep. My Beta, Jash appeared in my doorway.

"Man. You have to wear something nicer than that." He critiqued me.

"Why?" I gave him a tired look.

"Bro! What the hell is going on with you? You completely forgot your own birthday!" He said, exasperation cutting through his voice. I growled lowly, my wolf didn't like his lack of respect for the Alpha. "Oh, cut the Alpha crap! Wear something nicer for when you meet your mate."

He wiggled his eyebrows at me and then slammed the door shut. I grumbled to myself as he left.

"Wear something nicer for when you meet your mate." I mocked him quietly.

"I heard that!" He yelled from the stairs, sass dripping from his words.

I sighed and walked back to my closet. I found a white shirt and some dressy, suit pants. I changed out of my shirt and basketball shorts and then walked back to the bathroom. I put some gel on my hand and then ran my hand through my hair. I looked at myself for a second, I look decent.

I walked out of my room, lightly closing the door behind me. I took a deep breath and turned right into the face of Zarah, Jash's younger sister. Her eyes held surprise as she clumsily tried to avoid touching me. I held out a hand, stopping her. Something about her was drawing me in, I couldn't place it. Her sapphire eyes slowly reached mine, static lingered in the air. Nothing was said but nothing needed to be said. Reaching forwards I grabbed her arm, sending tingles through my fingers, and pulled her back into my room.

I closed the door and turned to her. Her chin was up and her eyes held defiance, she placed her hands on her hips and glared at me. Her eyes spoke everything that she couldn't say.

"Zarah... I'm sorry."

She dropped her head, her brown hair falling over her face. She slowly nodded her head and left my room.

What have I done?
