I feel a slap across my face it stings deeply my body trembling from the pain. "Why can't you be better Cassie!" Jackson screams at me I suck in a breath as he punches me in the gut as I fall to the floor in agony. "Please stop" I say softly in tears. "Did you just tell me to stop Cass" he says slamming me down against the floor my face so close to his I can smell the alcohol on his breath. I try squirming away but his hands hold me down I'm going to leave you in here for the rest of the week with no food or water he snickers in my face. He gets up and leaves stumbling from his drunken stupor as he forgets to lock the door.

I cradle my face as I walk to the door opening it so it doesn't creak. But it does and I find myself cringing in fear and anticipation. I walk out the door and go down the hallway making sure to jump over the creaky floor boards. I hear Jackson's steady breathing knowing he passed out on the couch like always. I open the front door and start running quick and agile I shift into my red wolf with black lines dancing around my sides. I take off in a full of sprint hopping over logs and dogging trees and bushes. Go Cassie Go and don't you ever look back!! my wolf says urging me forward.

I hear the cry of a lone wolf as I cross the border of Jackson's territory.

I run for hours pushing my body and soul to the limits. Every stride I make is harder than the last I trot to a near by pond surrounded by a canopy of trees and bushes I lay down. I take in the scenery of this one beautiful moment and I know I have to be in the next state at least. I smile knowing I'm safe and drift off into a well deserved sleep.

I awake to the sound of growling my ears flicking in all directions as they surround me I jump to my feet and start growling my ears layed back. A brown wolf jumps out and growls back getting in a position to attack. My wolf screams in me kill him Cassie make him suffer don't let them hurt us anymore. I pounce on him feeling the wind ruffle my coat as I growl I feel a wolf bite my neck in mid air. I fall limp on the ground as he tightens his grip on my neck I whimper in submission and he pulls away a man walks out of behind the tree. He must be the beta of the pack from the way he walks with dignity. But not so much dignity to be Alpha. "Change" he commands throwing a shirt at me I pick it up in my mouth and limp behind a tree and change. "Can I have some pants as well?" I ask seeing my bruises snake down to my ankles my tan skin covered in dark circles and my lengthy hair curly and greasy from no shower. They throw me some shorts that I put on that reach to my ankles and I sigh in relief. I walk out from behind the tree remembering my face and pull my hair over my right cheek. "What's your name rogue?" he says spitting out that last word with distaste. "My name is Cassandra Dreamer" I say through gritted teeth as my neck heals slowly my wolf never heals my bruises which I wish she would it would have made this conversation a lot easier. "Where taking you to the Alpha" he says smirking. "No, no ,no please don't I'll leave just don't do that!" my body shakes in fear of an alpha there ruthless and cruel just like Jackson. He walks over to me and throws me over his shoulder I wince in pain and he chuckles. "Are my muscles hurting you sweetheart" he says smoothly. "Don't call me that you worthless piece of crap!" I say punching his back. He sits me down and sticks a syringe in my neck. "What the heck" I was thankful he did it on the left side of my neck. All I remember is blotches of black and then darkness.
