Changes

The two ninjas have been about 4 miles in, silence filled the air. Ino felt visibly uncomfortable as she didn't know what to talk about with Sasuke. But there was something she wanted to ask him. But she knew it wasn't her place. "We're going almost there. Just 5 more miles." Ino looks up and confirms with the ex- rouge ninja. ...................................................................

"Thank you for bringing me this." Gaara thanked the two leaf village ninja and gave them a different scroll. "Here, please give this to Kakashi. Tell him no one was able to decipher what it meant." Sasuke was confused but didn't ask any questions. He knew something was off but brushed it off. Soon after both him and Ino started their way back home.

"So Sasuke. I have a question for you.", asks Ino as she breaks the silent barrier between them. "What is it?" She lets out a sigh and asks,"I just wanted to ask, is there something going on between you and Sakura?" He stops in his tracks and says,"No." This came as a shock to Ino, she would've thought he changed. That he felt the same way. "Well... I guess that's a good thing right. Now Sakura doesn't have to waste her time chasing after someone." This was a way of defending Sakura, while also trying to make him feel a bit jealous. But even after saying all this, Sasuke still had the same look. He didn't even flinch after hearing what she had to say.

"I'm so excited Hinata!", shouts Sakura enthusiastically. "Me too, I-I haven't been to a festival with Naruto." Replies Hinata as they both look for an outfit to wear for the festival coming up today. "Are you going with Sasuke?", asks Hinata. Sakura felt almost awkward after hearing his name. "Actually no, um... I'm going with Tenma. H-he asked me and I couldn't say no. He's been really nice to me these couple months." Could it be. Has Sakura really moved on? What changed?

"Thank you Sasuke, Ino. Good job in delivering the scroll safely. Ino you've proved yourself responsible, I advise you go talk to Masuki about the internship, you may go."
"Yes" and with that Ino was gone.
Sasuke was about to leave when -
"Are you going to the festival tonight?", asks Kakashi. Sasuke turns around to face the hokage. "I don't know." Kakashi sighs,"Well I hope to see you there."
