The voice was so powerful, so convincing. It consumed him; he'd never cracked quite like he had to its deep voice and tempting notions. It was there, had always been there, and had taken the wheel. He'd finally become at piece within the universe, despite the haunting fact that he was inevitably destroying it.
The planet the two figures stood on was abandoned. A deserted desert. There was no sound except for the heavy breathing and crunching footsteps of the two men. The area was perfect: untraceable. Nobody could find them there, not even themselves.
A man- the threat's- fist flew into his face, but he was quick to dodge it. His thin form was in surprisingly well physique and he had, needless to say, decent reaction time. Maybe this could be the one.
"If you kill me," a sinister voice hissed, welling up from the bottom of his throat. "You will have never existed. Everything that you've ever accomplished in your timeline, all of it, gone." He grinned, awaiting his opponent's reaction.
The threat merely chuckled, running a hand through his thick brown hair. "You do realize that I know exactly how this whole schpeel ends, correct? I've been through this before, you know. Well, yes, of course you do." He smiled in a nonchalant manner and winked. How could he be so careless in the future?
"So. Tell me." Oh no, he's fighting. He took a deep breath in as an attempt to increase focus and resistance. He didn't have the time for it to happen. He needed this one; this one was perfect. Block. Him. Out.
The threat blinked. "Well, uh, I win..?" It was more a question than an answer.
"You won." He paused. No, he hadn't won, he won. Wins. Whatever the tense may be, he wins.
The threat smirked. "We won?"
"Just stop trying!" His words echoed, bouncing off the many red dunes surrounding them. The sharply-dressed man scowled. His eyes had been drained of all color and his lifeless black pupils were staring directly at the threat that stood there, mocking him. "You saw nothing through these eyes! Nothing!" His teeth grit and footing became uneasy, red sneakers skidding over the planet's sandy red terrain.
The threat laughed under his breath. He could not tell if he was being sarcastic or genuinely found his monumental efforts to be "amusing."
"You'll see. The Chakatori will soon control every living, breathing creature in the universe. I will take the last ten of your pitifully humanlike replicas if I must! Heed my words, I will not take it easily on them. I will pick you off, one by one, until you become extinct! We are the future, and not even a monster of your likeness can alter-"
A fist landed dead-center in the lecturing man's face. The threat held his nose in reaction. "That's gonna hurt later, ouch..."
The "Chakatorian" rubbed his aching head and slowly, shakily rose to his feet. No. No. I'm losing to him! "What..." Gone. "Was that for? Where am I?" He held his possibly-broken and bleeding nose with one hand and keenly examined his surroundings. The brown hue had returned to his eyes and he was now even shakier on his feet than earlier. His confused gaze landed upon his attacker and the confusion only intensified. "Who the hell are you?"
"Tsk tsk, spoilers." The attacker bowed his head and sighed. "I'm you, but both of us... well, both of us you's won't exist for much longer, well, or shorter unless we stop the Chikawhatevers before they kill me. You. Us. Other you's. Other us's." The confused man staggered to a halt, appearing more confused as ever. "I'm the Doctor." The Doctor grinned, waving his hand and taking in short, exasperated breaths following his excited explanation.
"Impossible," the bloody-nosed figure retorted, shaking his head. "That's me. I'm the Doctor."
The two men both paused their pacing, surveying each other up and down, and eventually shouted in unison:
"Damnit!"
